AROUND OUR HOME — 14

10.01.17

Happy October! Today brings the first day of a new month and I’m sitting here asking myself where did September go? We kicked off the month in Northern Arizona, taking a break from the heat and getting a little family time in. We spent the rest of our early days and into the middle of the month prepping for our first Junk In The Trunk Vintage Market (which was a huge success!). After the hustle and bustle of the market had come to a close, Scott and I shifted our time to focusing a bit more on our home, wholesale + online orders for Citizen Home Decor and taking a few moments to just take in how exciting and special life is feeling right now. The end of the month has brought a few busy days, our Madewell pop-up shop, and some exciting news that we’ll be sharing soon! September was truly so, so good to us and I have a feeling that October will be more special than we even imagine — more markets, exciting plans and sweater weather to name just a few exciting pieces.

Ready for a few peeks into our home during the month of September? Here we go –

— I know many people wait until October 1st to hang their Halloween decor, but I just couldn’t wait any longer. I strung our pumpkin lights and placed a few mini pumpkins in our living room. Our days have been a mixture of hot, hot and cool (for us desert rats at least), so for now the pumpkins will stay inside where they won’t rot before the holiday comes.

— More Halloween decor! I picked up this spooky strand from the dollar spot in Target and its by far one of my favorite purchases as of late. I don’t know about you, but my fall decorating is a mixture of spooky and autumn goodness — pumpkins, apples and a few ghosts, goblins and witches thrown in for a good measure. What your Halloween decorating style like?

— September also brought about a few home decor changes in our little space — mostly prints and pictures getting the ol’ swap-a-roo. I’ve been eyeing this eye piece for ages and finally decided to bite the bullet and have it shipped in from over seas. I bought it from The Poster Club, which has a ton of over awesome prints!

I hope ya’ll are having an amazing weekend! Scott and I had the best time at our pop-up yesterday and already can’t wait for our next event in October (locals, come see us on the 28th – which is also Scott’s birthday!). And for now, well — we’re headed off to enjoy a slow Sunday before a busy and fun week — which just may bring some cooler weather our way! 😉
