Oh hai, I own a DSLR!

11.22.09

In the last few months I have been seriously neglecting my DSLR camera. I bought my Sony A-100K in April of 2007 and have had some great times with it since then. Lately I’ve been opting to just use Scott’s smaller Nikon since it is much more convenient. Last night I decided to take it along with me, and here are the result’s:

This was taken when Scott and I were thrifting with Amanda, Brian, Emerson, and Steve.
Scott took this one of Amanda and I.
Spppeeeed.
More to come of those asap.
Anyways, today I went to Starbucks and got a:
Grande iced coffee. I paid for it with my Starbucks mini card (which I love):
Reading a little Plath while I was waiting for Scott to get off of work.
I also wore my TOMS today. Kind of forgot that I owned these lovely shoes.
Ok, goodnight loves!

New Moon, coffee, and book stores.

11.21.09

Here I am, sitting in my fav corporate coffee shop, The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf, sipping on an iced coffee and taking a break from homework. Thought I would give a little update on my life.

Yesterday (Friday) I had five different interviews for possible internship’s for next semester. I met with people from very prestigious magazines and newspapers, and I’m hoping one of them would like to have me on their team. If not, that’s ok and I’ll be just fine.
After I got done with my interviews I met Scott at this cute new coffee shop in downtown by my school, and decided to head for Tempe Marketplace. At TM we had lunch at Paradise Bakery, and then went and saw New Moon.
Here are my thoughts on the movie:
The movie was better than the first in the series. The acting was better, the makeup was better, the boys were better looking, and overall the movie left me with a sense of emptiness for a period of time, just like the book did.
There were parts where I know they left stuff out, and changed a few things around. Overall though, I am extremely happy about the movie and how true it stayed to the book. The imagery was well spoke to my heart. Being a girl with a love for the Northwest, it made me feel at home. I am extremely looking forward to the next installment of the series.
Here are a few pictures from the movie for you Twilight saga fans to get mushy over (much like I did):

Not from the movie but stillll:
So cute!
Oh geeeez!
After the movie Scott and I did a little running around and ended up at Bookman’s where Scott and I both found some pretty neat things, including a Simon and Garfunkel greatest hits record and a few Christmas presents for family and friends. We made macaroni and cheese and peas for dinner, and watched Panic Room.
Today I plan on working on more homework, working on Scott and I’s advent calendar, possibly going on a bike ride, and doing something with Amanda!

Coffee dates, old downtown Glendale, and advent calendars!

11.17.09

Here is an update of my weekend (I know, I know, I’m always late on these but hey, better late than never right!), and today:

  Friday:
My love and I had our weekly Friday morning coffee date. Lately we’ve been going to this cute coffee shop called 3 Roots Cafe that is literally two minutes away from where my internship is. The cafe is generally not very busy when we get there, so we always get our coffee extremely quick and then have about 40ish minutes to spend sitting outside chatting and enjoy the chilly weather.
Mmmmm iced americanos are the best!
Later that evening Scott and I hung out with our friend Amanda, and end up going to Brian and Lindsay’s apartment. Afterwards we ended up going to a local carnival, Name Brand Exchange, and Extreme Bean to get some much needed caffeine at 8 o’clock at night. ;]

Blurrrry.

This is so, so sweet<3
He’s crazzzy!
Awwwh!
Saturday Scott and I made plans to go see his grandparents at the very cute coffee shop that they own in old downtown Glendale. Our lovely friend Amanda joined us again that evning and we had a lot of fun on the drive there, walking around old downtown, sipping coffee and eating sandwiches. Did I mention that we took lots of photos as well?

In the Pink de Ville area at the Pink House!
Eating sandwiches at the Mighty Cup and Spoon!
Playing the piano at the coffee shop!
Late Saturday night we also ended up at Goodwill and found this amazing piano that Scott and I would have bought if we had a place to put it:
Friends since November of 2006<3

Sunday was spent doing homework, cleaning, and eating soup with my love.
Today I went to class, ate a yummy grilled cheese and tomato sandwich made by my love, and got coffee at Maui Wowi (Scott had a gift card to there for almost a year, so we decided that we really needed to go and use it) with Amanda, and Scott. Later on Scott and I had dinner with my grandma, picked up my mail, and did homework.
Iced skinny hazelnut latte, hot americano, and a hot cinnamon mocha latte!
Tomorrow after class I’m hoping for a bike ride, and then Scott and I are going to his grandparent’s coffee shop for movie-on-the-wall Tuesday! I’m thinking a dirty chai is must as well, and possibly a stop at the Pink House to look around the Pink de Ville area again!
Before I go, I have a question for you, my lovely blog friends. Do any of you do advent calendars for Christmas? I’ve never had one, or at least that I can remember, and really want to have one this year. What kind of things do you put in yours? I’m thinking my boyfriend Scott should put things in it for half of the month, and I should put stuff in it for the other half so each day will be a surprise for at least one of us. I would love if you would also link me to any photos that you have of your advent calendars! Thank you in advance! :]
  Ok, time for bed!
  Goodnight!

An update<3

11.11.09

This is a little late, but here it goes…

Last Thursday Scott, and I drove allll the way down to north Scottsdale and went to the new H&M on it’s opening day! The store was crazy busy, as expected, but nonetheless it was fun to go there, and I even came home with a few goodies (will show in a bit.).
After shopping at H&M we had dinner at Paradise Bakery (mmmm tomato soup!), and then parted ways. Scott and I decided we didn’t want to go home yet so we ended up at Barnes and Noble, looking through the crafting book section.

New hat from H&M!

My love<3
Friday Scott and I had our morning coffee together (It was a large iced americano kind of day), and afterwards I went to my internship.
Later that evening Scott and I had a lovely sushi dinner date. We went to this place that had a conveyour belt that made the sushi go round and round. We were a bit confused at the time how to order, but we ended up getting some yummy stuff. Scott got some kind of roll that was deep fried (so good!), and I got vegan rolls (mushroom, cucumber, and carrots!). We also got miso soup, and a yummy salad that had a really sweet dressing on it. It was a lot of fun, and we have been talking about going there forever so I’m so happy that we finally did.
After dinner we headed down to downtown Phoenix to meet Amanda, and Zane at First Fridays! This month the art walk was AMAZING! It was so organized, and all of the art being displayed was so good! Scott and I even went down to Grand Ave. and looked through all the amazing galleries there! I also had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Onjoli of Pink De Ville and got to see all the cute things in her shop! Onjoli’s shop is located just down the street from Scott’s grandparents coffee shop, so I’m hoping to see more of her in the future!
In a fancy art gallery that was 21+ ps I’m wearing a flower clip on the left side that I got from H&M!
Amanda and Zane in the fancy art gallery!
A wall mural in progress!  He was painting the Swell Season!
Saturday we went to Nordstrom’s Rack, and got tea and hot chocolate at Starbucks with Brian, Lindsay, and baby Em.
Sunday Scott and I got coffee, went to dinner with my mom and grandma, went shopping at Target, and visited Brian and baby Em.
Hooray! We made it to THIS week haha
Monday wasn’t too exciting, other than the fact that I spent a few hours at the doctors because I was having serious breathing problems and heart burn. Three hours later my doctor said that I’m having bad anxiety and need to calm down.
Yesterday I felt MUCH better. I was able to keep my breathing under control and it was wonderful. Scott and I went on a bike ride to Starbucks to get caramel apple cider (mmmm) and the dollar store. Later that night we went to Mill with Brian, Lindsay, and Em to look around for a bit.
TODAY is my day OFF! Hooray! I think I might run up to Starbucks and get some oatmeal and iced coffee. I also plan to do homework, and go to Yogurtland with my love.
Hope everyone has a WONDERFUL Veterans day!

PS I received my first pen-pal letter from the wonderful Jaelynn! Everyone should check out her blog and shop<3
