Dreamer

04.18.11

I have no problem admitting I’m a dreamer. I dream up stories, photoshoots, traveling adventures, and scenes from Scott and I’s future quite often. I’m also one of those girls that likes to capture every possible moment I can, and for that I must have a camera with me at all times. I generally like to have my DSLR camera in my camera bag with me, but occasionally I will opt out of carry it and depend on my Droid X camera phone to capture those sweet moments that seem to happen every day. On occasion, though, I love to carry around one of Scott and I’s film cameras (either the Canon AE-1, or Olympus OM-1). The love I have for photos taken with regular film cameras is indescribable, and it doesn’t hurt that carrying around an old school manual camera always makes someone look extra cute (in my opinion, that is).

Silk blouse: Banana Republic; Heart “J” necklace: Etsy; Tokyo Dreamer Strap: c/o Photojojo; Jeans: Levi’s; Red Rose band + white face watch: c/o Tikkr Watches; Quartz ring: Stone & Honey; Moccs: Minnetonka Moccasins
Shirt: American Apparel; Dark Chocolate band + white face watch: c/o Tikkr Watches; Jeans: Levi’s; Shoes: TOMS
The crew at Photojojo was kind enough to send me the Tokyo Dreamer Strap from their shop to test out on my favorite film camera (although it would be perfect to use for my Canon DSLR as well). If you’ve never checked out the Photojojo store, you are seriously missing out. They are the geniuses behind the ever so popular (and amazing) camera lens mug, and also carry a variety of fun camera toys and equipment that would make any camera connoisseur jump with glee (seriously, they have really neat things).
I have to say that I am definitely impressed by the Tokyo Dreamer Strap. The quality of the vegan leather is great, the cute detachable film/memory holder pouch is not only fashionable, but also functional, and the quote on the strap, “Today, I’m just a dreamer, dreaming my life away,” completely goes with how I feel almost every day.

I also really love how in the description for the strap online it says it’s fashion forward, a thought that I completely agree with. I just loved switching out our old black rubber and fabric strap for this colorful, quality one.

On another note, this weekend Scott and I went to see Cage the Elephant and The Black Keys in Mesa (technically on Thursday, but that’s when my weekend starts), went shopping for a graduation dress for myself (I’m pretty positive I found the perfect one at Anthro!), wandered around Phoenix a bit, and did some homework.
The show was pretty fun, although, the line to get in was not very fun. It was at an outdoor venue that has grass seating, so Scott and I found a spot in the grass on the right side of the stage and stayed there for the night.
We were also a little late to the game on Record Store Day Saturday and unfortunately missed out on the fun at Stinkweeds. It’s ok though, we were busy that afternoon shopping with my grandma.

I kind of love both of those photos. So sweet.
Have you ever purchased anything from Photojojo? What’s your favorite item in their shop? What did you do this weekend?
