Today we have a lovely interview with Kendi of Kendi Everyday. Kendi has a sweet sense of style, and is well known for her stylish thrift finds, and for spearheading the amazing 30 x 30 project. She is honestly one sweet lady, and her blog is one of a kind.

1. Tell us a little bit about yourself.
-Well, I am a blogger, a wife, and a recovering hoarder.
-I’ve been blogging since 2004 (I know, I’m old. Ok?) I had a blog in college, which is the pick-up line my now husband used on me “I read your blog.”. I couldn’t say no to that. But that blog kind of faded out and when I moved to where we live now in 2008, I started a newly wed blog called “Better Off Wed” and then in December 2009 I started “Kendi Everyday.” She takes up the most time.
-I’m terrible at describing my style as it seems to change by the time I’m finished writing the sentence. But for you, I will. I like to think that my style is quirky classic. I tend to stay away from too many trendy pieces but I don’t want to be too stiff in my style. I like to have my own take on classic pieces.
-You know it all came from me needing a reason to stop shopping. (I guess debt wasn’t enough for me?) I had seen similar ideas in Lucky and InStyle Magazines and thought — well I can do that! So that’s what I decided to do. I decided to take 30 items and make 30 outfits in order to prove to myself that I could in fact use what I already have. I’ve since done it 4 times, so I like to think that I’ve got my Masters in Remixing.
-Right now, wide leg trousers and full A-line skirts are what keep me up at night. I can’t wait until warmer weather to bust out these styles. I think bright colors are also making me long for spring. Of course you can never go wrong with a trench coat for spring.
6. When you’re not busy blogging, what can you be found doing?
-Sleeping? Yes, sleeping would be one of my favorite things. But also reading whenever I can. I love memoirs, I love non-fiction books in general. And lately I’ve been trying to pick up the habit of running but my sleeping habit is getting in the way.
-Lately I’ve been drawing inspiration from certain color palettes. I love to see how far I can go with certain colors and styles. I also gain so much inspiration from other bloggers. There are some stylish girls out there!
-Probably a flowy, a-line skirt, tall boots, a button down and a blazer. I’d probably add on a cute scarf, just for good measure.
-I love it! It makes me kind of nervous, I’m not going to lie. If I’m wearing bold colors I know that I will gather many looks that day, but I can’t help but wear bold colors sometimes. It’s an instant mood lifter.
10. Do you have any advice for aspiring fashion bloggers? What about someone that wants to incorporate more color into their wardrobe, but is slightly afraid to?
-Be who you are, write what you know and be nice to people. Don’t worry about the numbers, just create a blog that you love and others are sure to love it as well. I encourage everyone to make a fashion blog, it’s one of the funnest things I’ve ever done. And as far as incorporating color — just do it. It’s good to scare yourself daily. Why not do it with a pair of red heels or a bright pink pencil skirt? Don’t be afraid of onlookers — they might just be thinking about how cute you look!
Thank you so much Kendi for doing this interview with me! Be sure and check out Kendi’s blog for some awesome re-mixed outfits, and sweet inspiration.
