You guys, It’s Friday AND the last day of February! Talk about a double whammy! February was a busy, busy month, and I have a hunch that March will be just the same (don’t things always seem to pick up in the spring?). Tomorrow is my bestie’s birthday, and I’m excited to get my groove on at her 80’s themed birthday celebration! Scott is completely stoked about dressing up, but I have no idea what I’m going to wear! I figure, I’m a child of the 80’s so I’m sure I’ve got a pair of acid wash jeans and a little neon hiding in my closet somewhere. We will see!
Tucked away in that same overstuffed closet was this black, white and red ensemble. If I’m being honest, I feel most confident when I decked out in neutrals and solids from head to toe, but this printed skirt gave my neutral ways a run for its money. I picked up this mini skater skirt on a whim one evening when Scott and I were shopping at a local TJ Maxx. Lately, I’ve been pushing myself to think outside of the box when it comes to my clothing purchases, and this mini style definitely spoke to my boundaries. I’m hoping that once the warm temperatures are hereto stay, that I won’t chicken out and hide this gem away in my closet until tights season rolls around again, but since I’m writing this here – hold me to it!

Meet Boots! After a series of odd events, Boots has officially joined our little family. He’s a one-year-old tabby that has quite the personality and is full of spunk! He loves paper bags, feathers, and the smell of coffee (literally, every time I sit down to drink a cup he’s all over me). He’s our third fur baby and I’m so happy that he’s a part of our family!
How are you spending your last day of February? What’s one item in your closet that pushes your usual style boundaries?
