Dressing for a professional or business casual type of atmosphere is not something I really know much about. Sure I’ve been a student for years and an intern here and there, but for the greater part of the last seven years that I’ve been in college my style has been pretty casual (and maybe a little grungy one day, a little girly the next, and usually somewhere in-between every other day). However, with graduation on the horizon and the job hunt on, I’m finding myself wanting to style up more business casual outfits (ya know, so when I do find a great job I already have a few outfits down pat that I know I can style up with ease when I’m running out the door).
Outfit details:
Stiletto red lip creme: c/o Too Faced Cosmetics
Blazer: Nordstrom’s Rack
Top: Madewell
Necklace: Origami Owl
Jeans: Gap
Bag: Coach
Watch: Fossil
Moccs: Minnetonka Moccasins
To be quite honest, Chelsea of Zipped is one of my biggest inspirations for business causal inspired outfits. I love how she pairs blazers and jeans with ease, and sometimes throws a pair of Minnetonka Moccasins in there just for fun. Thanks for always being such an inspiration, Chelsea!
Since the big job search began a month or so ago, I’ve already purchased my first pair of “dress pants,” a new staple white blouse, and two black blazers – the one I’m wearing being on the more casual side, and the other being more clean cut and professional looking. I’m still on the hunt for a few more staple pieces for my future career wardrobe, and would love to know any suggestions you all may have for staple career wardrobe pieces, as well as what your daily office style looks like. Fill a girl in, please! I need some help!
