And just like that, it’s June! It’s so crazy to think that half of the year has already passed on by — which means autumn is almost here (I kid, but really — I’m already so excited for fall!). If you follow me on Instagram, you might have saw that we kicked off the beginning of the month with a long, weekend trip to Springfield, Missouri. I’ll share more on our trip to SGF soon, but for now I’ll just say that we truly enjoyed our time together in the Midwest and can’t wait to go back again real soon! After arriving home Sunday afternoon, we jumped right back into our normal routine — grocery shopping, filling up our iced coffee growler at Peixoto and getting ready for another busy week ahead. We knew Monday morning would come bright and early, so we went to bed super early for us (8:30pm!) and then kicked off the new week with sleepy eyes and giant cups of iced coffee. 

While we were away, we had our first 115+ degree day around here. We had such nice weather for much longer than usual this year, so we all knew it was coming — but man we were so excited to miss the bulk of it while out in Missouri. We were, however, greeted by a nice heat wave right as we stepped off the plane onto the tarmac (for reals — we flew out of the small airport in town!). Since getting back, we’ve both been adjusting to the heat and trying our best to remember to drink lots of water and stay out of the sun — which I failed at a bit yesterday. I took a short walk outside to get some lunch, and then another quick walk for a yummy paleta and sometime between the two I got a nice little sunburn on my shoulders. I burn so easily, so it’s no surprise — just not quite used to the sun being so harsh again! 🙂

Now that we’re back home for a couple of weeks, we’ve got big plans for finishing things up around the house and getting the last few boxes unpacked in our place. We still need to put some time and effort into our guest bedroom/office, but to be quite honest — I’m just not too sure what I want that space to look and feel like. Every area of our home as flowed through quite nicely so far, so I’m hoping that once we get working on this space that everything will come together pretty quickly and easily as well — fingers crossed! We also purchased the chair of our dreams today from West Elm because it was on super sale, and I’m very excited to bring it into our space (probably in the living room!).

We just finished up dinner (chicken, avocado and cauliflower rice), so I’m off to enjoy the rest of the evening. I think we’re gonna try and get a quick walk in, and then clean up a little bit before settling down for the evening. Talk soon, sweet friends!
