Civic Space Park

01.08.11
Thursday morning I had a meeting in downtown Phoenix, and Scott had a few errands to run at ASU, so we made a breakfast date out of it. We went down a little early to eat at Matt’s Big Breakfast and luckily we just walked in and snagged a table. After enjoying our eggs benedict and coffee, we walked to the park near my school and enjoyed the grass, sunshine, and gorgeous view.

We took these photos around 10:20 a.m., and the light was just perfect. A few years ago they built this park as a place for ASU students to hang out during break. There is an art gallery, coffee shop, and loads of sitting space in the grass. I’m pretty sure this is also the best place to get a full on city view, which I love to take in. I know I’ve said this before, but I feel so blessed to be able to go to such a great school in such an amazing area.
Since Scott and I are out for holiday break, we haven’t been in downtown much (sadly), so it was nice to spend a morning there. Downtown is the area that I enjoy most in the whole city, and being there always makes me feel great. There are so many great coffee shops, boutiques, and lovely people in this city. I’m so proud to be a part of such a great community!

After our photo break I had a fantastic meeting with my undergraduate advisor. For all except the most recent semester I had an advisor that I didn’t mesh with so well, so to have this new, lovely lady looking out for me is a blessing. She has a sign up in her office that says “Crying is ok here,” and every time I see it my heart warms a little. She gave me some great news this afternoon, and hopefully in a few short months I can announce what I’m doing after I graduate with my Bachelor’s in May. I don’t want to jinx it though, so I’m going to keep it a secret!

Scott and I went to see Country Strong last night and I loved it (he liked it too). Today I have a few errands to run before Scott gets off of work, and then we probably will do something fun around Tempe.

What are you plans for this lovely Saturday?
