An Afternoon Stroll in Junction

06.16.11
Being away from the big city can be hard on this girl, so I’m very thankful that I often get to visit Grand Junction where I can feel somewhat normal in their downtown area (similar to downtown Mesa, and slightly like downtown Phoenix). I just love walking around, taking in the sights, picking up a coffee and a snack and people watching as I stroll by.
On another note, while looking at that top photo for a minute I realized that my legs look much longer than they actually are. When I met Danielle and Vanessa back in March they both told me that they thought I would be taller. However, I am in fact 5 foot 4 1/2 inches and my torso is much longer than my legs. My family on my mom’s side are all very short, and my family on my dad’s side are average height/tall. I consider myself to be somewhere in the middle.
The wind was something fierce this day in downtown. I wore my favorite To Write Love On Her Arms shirt while out on a iced coffee/afternoon walk. Back in February I wrote a blog post about how TWLOHA is very near, and dear to my heart. If you haven’t check it out yet, or are interested in learning about TWLOHA, I highly suggest checking it out. You can read it right here.
Today I’m hoping to go on a little adventure, read more of “One Day” (my current book of choice), write a few letters, and maybe watch a movie (I’m thinking Garden State or 500 Days of Summer).

What are you up to today? Do you prefer living in a small or big town?
