Today I thought I would do a little post on my pup, Scout. As I mentioned a few weeks ago, Scout is the newest, tiniest addition to our family. He is a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and was born in Scottsdale, Arizona. He is 13 weeks old, and has the sweetest disposition. After more than two months of waiting, my family and I were finally able to bring him home three weeks ago. My mother is responsible for finding him, and my dad is responsible for researching his breed like crazy before we welcomed him home.
When I lost my beloved pup of 16 years back in March I was absolutely devastated, and it’s still something I’m coping with today. The thought of bringing a new puppy into my life brought tears to my eyes, as I couldn’t imagine ever trying to replace him. At first the idea of bringing Scout home frankly scared me, but when our eyes finally met I understood why he was meant to be in our family. It’s something that is awfully hard to explain, but our connection was instant and powerful. I would like to think that Jake sent him to us, knowing how much joy he would bring to our lives.
His sweet disposition, easy going attitude, and spunkiness makes for the best companion a girl could ask for. He likes to be held, he likes to play with toys, and he likes to cuddle at bed time.
In the three short weeks that we’ve had him the impact he has made on my family is amazing. A few nights ago Elizabeth from Delightfully Tacky tweeted to me that she thought dogs were the best antidepressant, and I couldn’t agree with her more.
So here’s to a very long, and very happy life with my pup Scout. I am so thankful for your love, and for coming into our family exactly when you did. Welcome home!
With all my love,
Chelsea
