5 Things

03.30.13

Lately I’ve spotted a few ladies around the blogosphere blogging their “5 Things,” so today I thought I would hop on the bandwagon and post my own.

1. Scott and I met at the coffee shop he worked at in September of 2006. I came to watch his band play so I could write about the show for my super cool e-zine (oh, we all had one of those, right?). We barely talked that night, and when I was leaving and saying goodbye he was too busy texting with a pair of monster hands on to look up and say goodbye back. I still tease him about it to this day! Love you, hun!

2. I absolutely love airports! I totally thrive on that craziness that happens when trying to find your flight or making a connection. I love knowing that almost everyone there is going somewhere, and often find myself partaking in some major people watching while I sip my iced coffee (a flying essential, of course).

3. I owe my coffee addiction to two people, my cousin, Amanda, and Scott. When Amanda and I were teenagers she was obsessed with Starbucks (being from Washington state), and I couldn’t help to want to indulge in the daily caramel macchiatos she was drinking when we were on vacation together. When Scott and I met a few years later he was working at a coffee shop and would make me the tastiest coffee drinks (raspberry hazelnut lattes were my favorite). Eventually Scott and I both dropped the sugary drinks and have been black coffee drinkers ever since.

4. Makeup has always been a passion of mine, but over the years my obsession with it has come and gone (staying consistent for over the past year, however). In high school I was all about big and bold eyeshadow (loved my golden oranges, greens and blues, and shimmer was a must). Today I still really love bold eyeshadow and all things shimmery, but I’m also a total blush and lipstick kind of gal and truly enjoy having fun with my makeup looks.

5. I’m a native Arizonian with Colorado and Washington tendencies. While Colorado has been my home for every summer since I can remember, Washington has also always held a special place in my heart and left me with a constant feeling of being homesick. That may sound strange, but my heart has always felt like it resided in more than one state. I guess that’s what I get for having two parents that grew up in separate states and raised their baby girl in the sunshine of the Grand Canyon state.

Ok, that’s it! I’ve seen a few people tag other bloggers to follow along in the fun, so I’m going to do the same (however, I would love to see all of you partake in this 5 things tag and leave a comment below with your five things, or five things blog post). I’m tagging Chelsea of Zipped, Kara of Sunshine Cupcakes, Maria of Little Tree Vintage, Marlyn of Little Red Bowtalk, and Elise of Enjoy it!

Happy weekend!
