The Summer Solstice has passed and summer is officially here! And with the hottest days of the years just around the corner, my little family is planning our upcoming travels so that we can beat the heat and get in a little fun. Knowing that comfortable footwear is key for those long travel days and trips around the states, I’m excited to be partnering with Zappos and Mephisto to share a little bit about how their rad shoes for women and men make the perfect travel partners!
Summer travels have been engrained in me for as long as I can remember. I grew up going on road trips galore and I’m so excited to instill this passion in Ace. We actually took him on his first mini road trip to Tucson, Arizona, when he was around six weeks old. The drive was just long enough for him to get a good nap in and the day was perfectly spent exploring our favorite haunts in the Arizona, chowing down on tacos and seeing some of our locally based friends. Since then, Ace has traveled all around Arizona (Cottonwood, Yuma, all around the city and more) and has also conquered his first big road trip to California over Memorial Day weekend — which he was SO good for! Along with his first road trip, we also ace’d Ace’s first flight to Salt Lake City a few weeks ago and feel totally ready to take on our next! Let me know if you guys would like to hear my tips on roadtrips/flights with little ones — would love to share what I’ve learned so far!
And now, we’re just deciding where to go to next! So far we’re thinking of taking a few road trips around the area, including taking a drive up to Sedona, Flagstaff and Williams (to see Bedrock before it closes, of course!) And in terms of flights, we would love to travel to Kentucky to see some of our family, back to Utah to see my folks who are there for the summer and possibly to one more place we haven’t gone to before — Chicago, New Orleans, Grand Rapids, maybe somewhere back east? If you guys have any suggestions for family friendly travel spots, let me know!
Although we don’t know exactly where the summer months will take us, I do know that our recent Mephisto additions from Zappos will be accompanying us along the way!
