My Postpartum Wardrobe

Writing this post has been sitting on my to-do list for quite awhile now. Why, you might ask? Well, because talking about clothes postpartum can be tough. Truth be told, I’m still working on fully accepting my post-baby body — and that’s ok!

During my pregnancy, I gained 40lbs — and I would, without a doubt, do it all over again to get to our little boy. Nine months later and I’m still working on losing the weight — slowly but surely with around 15 lbs to go. While my hope is to be back into most of my pre-pregnacy clothes close to Ace’s first birthday, I’m trying not to put too much pressure on myself and know that it will come off in it’s own time. In the meantime, though, I am doing my best to eat well, stay hydrated (both for Ace and I) and dress my body in clothes that make me feel good. Here are the essentials that have been filling my postpartum wardrobe and been treating me well these past few months:

Tops:

Madewell Central Drapey Shirt // I have this top in a few different colors and love that the buttons make it nursing friendly!

Madewell Central Shirt // I also have this one in a few different prints and colors. It’s perfect for nursing and makes me feel put together.

Madewell Smocked Button-Down Top // This is the same style of shirt I’m wearing in the photo above. I love the sleeves, the button-down front and how good it makes me feel when I’m wearing it.

Doen April Top // I LOVE everything Doen, but this top has been my absolute favorite lately. Most of their tops also have a loose fit and tend to have button options — all the things I’m into lately, haha!

My Postpartum Wardrobe

Jackets:

Madewell The Oversized Jean Jacket // I loved my classic Madewell jean jacket for years now, but this oversized version has been treating me so well. I purchased it right before our trip to Seattle and will be wearing it inside until it’s cool enough to wear it outside in Arizona again, haha.

Madewell Southlake Military Jacket // The color really sold me on this jacket, but I also love it because it’s loose on top and I can easily wear it while wearing my Willow Pump at work!

Jewelry:

AUrate Mini Gold Letter Charm Pendant in an “A” // I received this as a Christmas present from my boys this past year. I wear this nearly every day!

AUrate Diamond Bezel Evil Eye Necklace // This necklace was a 31st birthday present for my guys and I’ve loved keeping it close. Eye evils are so special to me after seeing them every where during my time in Turkey.

Jennie Kwon’s LA VIE EN ROSE RING via Catbird // Scott bought me this ring not too long before we got pregnant with Ace — from our one day baby.

Jeans:

9″ Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans in Berkeley Black // These jeans have been my go-to lately. I love the button-fly and that they come in a petite length.

9″ Mid-Rise Skinny Jeans in Paloma Wash // My everyday, light wash jeans that have seen me through 4 weeks postpartum until now. They’re stretchy, but not too stretchy — perfect for making you feel put together but with a bit of give for those early (and later) postpartum days.

Paige Hoxton High Waist Ankle Skinny Jeans // This is a newer style for me and I’m loving the looser fit. I will admit, though — I haven’t work anything but skinny jeans since high school so these will definitely take a bit of getting used to.

Shoes:

Vans Old Skool Sneaker // Scott, Ace and I all have a pair of these (err, two actually) and they’ve been super easy to throw on while chasing around our little guy.

Vans Classic Slip-On Sneaker // During the days leading up to and about two weeks later, my feet were swollen. These were the first pair of shoes I wore once my feet went back to normal size and I’ve been rocking them ever since.

Madewell The Remi Mule in Leopard Calf Hair // These were my first back-to-work shoe purchase that have helped me to feel pulled together when I’m rocking a more simple look on top.

I would love to hear about your own postpartum wardrobe — any tips or tricks for planning what be amazing to hear!
