Bright as Snow

12.17.10
Yesterday was the first sunny day that we’ve had in Vail since I arrived here. It was so nice to see the sun shining down on the snow, and making it a glittery, wintery paradise. It was so strange though to see snow falling from the sky, and the sun as bright as can be.

Knit hat: DC (purchased at a shop in Vail because I was freezing)
Jacket: Guess
Dress: Old Navy
Shirt under the dress: American Apparel
Rust colored tights: c/o We Love Colors
Boots: Steve Madden
Yesterday it was extra cold – 22 degrees in the day, and 5 degrees in the evening. To my knowledge, I’ve never been in anything colder than 14 degree weather, so 5 degrees was a little bit of a shocker for me. My nose was freezing on my walk back to the hotel yesterday evening.
I bought this hat while out getting dinner with my mom the other night. My hat was not doing the job, and when I saw this one in a local shop I knew it would be extra cozy. I wore it all day yesterday (even inside), and my head and ears were kept warm the whole time.
(I love the little pom-pom.)

(Wishing I had someone aka Scott, to throw that tiny snowball at.)
I really liked the way that these rust colored tights popped against the whiteness of the snow, and my grayscale outfit. They definitely added something special to my outfit. Oh, and yet again I know there were people thinking to themselves as they walked by me taking photos of myself, that crazy girl from Arizona in tights in 22 degree weather!

I’ve been having a lot of fun taking these photos every day. For the past three days I’ve been trying to find a new place to take photos every day, and have succeeded so far. I’ve found it a bit challenging to carry all my equipment, and walk cautiously down this slanting road that I trek every day, but it really has been a good experience for myself. Although I love my photographer and wish he was here, I really think I can now take my own photos, and that it’s not as hard as I thought it would be.
Today I will continue to hang out with my parents, and hopefully get a little Christmas shopping done. I can’t believe Christmas is almost here! This year has gone by so quickly.
What do you have planned for today?
