Spring: Bright & Bold

03.25.11
This week has been a whirlwind. School has kept me super busy, as well as attending yearly doctors appointments, and putting the finishing touches on the Arizona Blogger Meet-up schedule. To say I’ve been busy is an understatement, but I’ve been enjoying it (for the most part) and I’m so excited to have a wonderful day tomorrow meeting new friends and going on adventures.
Rose dress in green peony: c/o Mixie; Mocha tights: c/o We Love Colors; Shoes: Jeffrey Campbell
Recently I received this pretty dress from Shannon at Mixie Clothing. I found her shop through Bluebird Vintage, and was immediately drawn to the classic shapes, floral and other unique fabrics, and also that they pride themselves on the fact that all their clothing is made locally in California.
As many of you know I am a huge local supporter enthusiast, and really think it’s amazing that such a cute shop is keeping things local and taking so much pride in their work.

Scott and I were both really impressed with the quality of dress, and both really loved the large floral pattern. There are so many great details on the dress that just made me love it more and more. I’m a huge fan of the pockets, the wrap around tie that helps accentuate my waist (because what women doesn’t love that?), the pretty little ruching around the top, and also the collar on the dress. Over all I am a huge fan of this dress and see it making a big statement in my spring and summer wardrobe. If you’re interested in checking out more of their cute garments, check out their site here.

I wore this outfit to class the other day and felt really feminine, but also very comfortable. I was warm the whole day with my tights on, and also with the length of the sleeves. I carried around a light cream sweater with me for when I felt an extra chill from my classrooms. Perfect school style outfit.

Today I had a dentist appointment, and now Scott and I are about to go run some errands for the Arizona Blogger Meet-up. This afternoon we are having coffee with Danielle and Paige and I couldn’t be any happier.

What are you up to today? Are you digging the large floral prints for spring?
