I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t afraid of color. Ok, let’s not get dramatic here but bright, bold colors have always been something that I tended to steer clear of in my every day style over the past few years. However, there are those few select bright and bold pieces that have made their way into my wardrobe, and every once in awhile I drag them out to play. These kelly green, corduroy pants I got on super sale from Anthropologie last spring is one of those pieces. I remember bringing them home and feeling SO excited to step out of my comfort zone and bring a little color into my life. Well, after wearing them a few times they ended up in the back of the closet awaiting the next time I would feel bold enough to wear them out. I hate to say that it took me almost a whole year to pull these out again, but really, it did. With that said, I felt great pairing these colorful pants with a staple chambray top and my favorite cardigan, leather bag and sandals combo. However, I truly knew that this ensemble was meant to be when I walked into my lecture on Monday and realized a fellow classmate (Hi Colleen!) was wearing almost exactly the same outfit! What can I say, great minds think alike!

Today I’m in crunch mode for a presentation (turned teaching lesson? AH!) I have tomorrow, and may have stayed up too late last night working away on other projects, emails, and of course this blog post. Oh, the life of a grad student really is glamorous, isn’t it? HA! It’s worth it though, let me tell you! I am THIS close to being done and couldn’t be more happy!
Ok, time for more coffee, lots of study time, and maybe a little peruse time through a store of my choice just to relax a bit and balance my grad school brain out.
What’s your favorite thing to do when you need a break that will refresh your mind and get you ready to take on more homework, writing, chores, etc.?
