Narnia

03.26.12

I’ve always been obsessed with the idea of magic and magical places existing. I don’t think I can quite pint point where this obsession came from (although I probably have my mother to thank), but I remember being amazed by the books A Wrinkle In Time and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as a child. Recently when Scott and I were on a photo adventure with Courtney we spotted this entrance hidden in an alley way, practically covered in greenery. Once I saw this I immediately thought of Narnia, and wished that was where that door lead to.

Even though I don’t like to admit Spring has officially sprung around here (my heart will always reside in fall), I have been wearing more and more lighter colored clothing lately. These green pants that I purchased at Anthro on major sale have become a bit of a spring staple already, and I’m LOVING wearing vintage scarves in my hair. Also, sandals are once again my best friend and these cutie Warrant Wedges from Blowfish Shoes are quickly becoming my favorite. I LOVE how easy they are to walk in, and the boho detailing on the top is cute. SO fun for spring!
I’m headed out to a sweet coffee date this morning, and then to an advisement meeting for my degree to figure out what the heck I’m going to do for the rest of my time in the program! ECK! SO intimidating! Happy thoughts, Chelsea, happy thoughts!

Lunch At The Market

03.25.12

I’m a pretty big sandwich person. I could probably eat a PB&J every day of my life and be perfectly content. Every once in awhile I like to branch out though and eat some leafy greens instead of peanut butter. Recently Scott and I went to the Phoenix Public Market for lunch and ate the most delicious sandwiches (she=veggie, he=bbq chicken). If you haven’t checked out the market in downtown, I highly suggest you do so. During my time at ASU downtown it was one of my favorite places to grab a quick lunch, or even a bag of sweet potato chips and a pellegrino. Seriously though, it’s the bees knees!

Classics For Me

03.24.12

Stripes just make everything feel right. Stripes are like that style comfort zone that you often find yourself wanting to venture away from, but you always eventually come back to it. I swear, I truly am a classics loving girl, and I love me so good stripes and a flattering pair of jeans. Sometimes I feel like I should be venturing out more in the big world of fashion (neon for Chelsea? maybe one day!), but I always come back to those classic looks that I know will never go out of style. I swear, I’m a sucker for a great pair of jeans, a cozy cardigan, and some cute sandals.
Do you find yourself sticking to the fashion classics, or do you like to venture out into the world of every-changing fashion trends? XO

Sips & Sweets

Because who doesn’t love some spring treats? Homemade poptarts, and cupcake with the most delicious frosting. Oh, and don’t forget those iced coffees. These are a few of my favorite things.

Put A Bird On It

03.23.12

I never pinned myself someone that would enjoy watching Portlandia so much, but I just do. For years and years Scott has called me Chelseabird, and he even had a bird for me drawn on the side of his vehicle once (long story, but Scott used to have a van that everyone would spray paint and draw all over). So when I finally saw the now famous “Put a Bird On It” skit, I literally tumbled over in laughter at how funny it actually was (everyone was right!). What I’m really trying to say is that I ADORE this flowy, bird top and I LOVE that someone actually wanted to “put a bird on it!”

I also really love this little polka dot spotted area. I always feel a little magical when I’m in there, and a little terrified at the same time (cars drive RIGHT over our heads).
Here’s to a better day tomorrow, and late night iced coffees (I just might be drinking one now, shhhh). XO

Meet-Up With Amy Morby!

03.22.12

Last week I was lucky enough to meet the incredibly sweet Amy Morby from A is for Ampersand. Amy and I have been blogger friends for quite some time now, and being able to meet her in person was just the best! She and her husband are incredibly down to earth, and it was SO awesome to be able to sip coffee with them and talk about the blogging world (SO awesome when someone else understands the whole idea behind it!). It really was a blessing to be able to meet Amy finally, and I can’t wait until our paths cross again. If you haven’t checked out her sweet blog yet, I highly suggest you do so! She is one amazing lady and her blog is a must read!
Love you Amy!

Walking With Baylee

03.21.12

And sometimes a pretty pair of wedges and light layers can put a real smile on this girls face. Things have been hard around here lately, but I’m looking to find the joy in small things (because really, they aren’t that small at all).
I’m heading off to a breakfast date at one of my favorite coffee shops in Gilbert. I might need to indulge in a very large iced coffee as, and maybe one of their cupcakes as well (they did win Cupcake Wars, ya know!).

Manicure For Me

03.19.12

Yesterday my mom took me to get a manicure with her. In my almost 24 years of life, I’ve probably only gotten a manicure two, maybe three times. I’m pretty good at keeping my nails trimmed, and can paint them just fine, but sometimes it’s nice to have a professional take care of them. I’m usually a red, or light color kind of color, but decided to go a little wild and paint them blue. I’m pretty sure I have this Essie color in my collection already (a mini from a few seasons ago), and will be trying it out again.
Do you like to get manicures?
Thank you for the sweet thoughts while I ease back into blogging.
