Tomorrow Will Bring Me Konstantine

08.21.10

Have I mentioned that tomorrow I am seeing one of my all time favorite bands. Yes, that one, ya know, with the song about Konstantine. Tomorrow will mark the first time that I’ve since Something Corporate since November of 2004. I will be seeing them in the same exact venue, but under much different, and better circumstances. I am no longer a teenager that isn’t quite sure what she wants, and easily relates to Punk Rock Princess. I am a grown women that is excited to share one of her favorite bands from growing up with the love of her life.

Tomorrow will be a good night.

Silk Rose Hair Tie from Cucuco

08.21.10
Rachel of the Adore More blog, and Cucuco Etsy shop was kind enough to send me this sweet little yellow silk flower hair tie.

Rachels flowers are honestly the cutest, and I feel like they can really go with anything. They are simple, and sweet and can compliment any outfit. Rachel even carries darker colored flowers that I feel could be perfect for Fall.
Did I mention that Rachel’s packaging is super cute as well?
Be sure and check out Rachel’s blog and shop for your daily dose of cuteness!
Happy Saturday!

Bow Belt by Katie Kukulka

08.20.10

This morning I received the most happiest of package! Inside was a beautiful sand color bow belt from Katie Kukulka aka Darlingtonia Moccasin Co.! I won this pretty belt via a giveaway that Katie hosted on her blog a few weeks back.

Because I was so excited about the belt this morning Scott and I decided to do a little photoshoot near my house so I could show it off.

Now, before I go I have to tell you how lovely this belt really is! The quality is absolutely top notch, and you can really tell that Katie put a lot of time and effort into designing and creating it. From reading Katie’s blog, and seeing the pieces that she makes, I just love how you can tell how passionate she is about her work, and how much love she must put into every piece she makes. Also, from seeing this bow belt I now know that Katie’s moccasins must be equally amazing, and of the upmost quality. If you’ve been considering purchasing something from Katie’s shop, I would highly suggest that you do so. You will in no way be disappointed.
Thank you again SOO much for the belt Katie! I seriously want to wear it every day and can’t wait to wear it around school this Fall.

A Little Art a Day Keeps the Doctor Away…

08.20.10
You may, or may not know that Scott and I are art enthusiasts, and enjoy roaming around the local art galleries and museums. The other day Scott and I decided to visit the Phoenix Art Museum to specifically look at the Cezzane exhibit, but also to stay out of the heat for a few hours and see some pretty art.
Here are a few photos from our trip:

Scott, taking a break while enjoying a view of the city. Notice the art piece of the walking man and women in the middle.
Our view…I spy Giant Coffee, Bunky Boutique, and ASU downtown.
Lastly, one of the largest, and most interesting piece of art that we saw that day:
Do you like checking out art galleries and museums? Which ones are your favorite?

Matt’s Big Breakfast Take 2

08.18.10

This morning Scott and I went to Matt’s Big Breakfast in downtown Phoenix. Matt’s is this teeny, tiny breakfast/lunch restaurant that is usually very busy, and serves excellent food. Guy Fierro from The Food Network even visited it once!

Anyways, we got to Matt’s around 9 a.m. and were super surprised that we were able to just walk right in and sit down to order (usually the wait is 30 minutes to an hour).

We started our meal with coffee and water, and each ordered a big breakfast for our more than hungry bellies.
Scott’s toast and jelly:
My waffle and homefries:
Scott’s egg omelete, hashbrowns, and toast & jelly:
The aftermath:
I honestly couldn’t finish all of those homefries, but they were delicious.

Giant Coffee, Take 1

08.17.10
While out shopping for books for school, Scott and I stopped by a fairly new coffee shop in downtown Phoenix called Giant Coffee.
Over the last month or so I’ve heard great things about Giant via Twitter from local Phoenix peeps, and I have to say that I was in no way disappointed with what I found.
Giant has a really great vibe, and Scott and I both agreed that their decor was very chic and eye appealing. We both really dug all the white, and all the wooden pieces they have. On a side note, if you’re a Phoenix local, or have ever visited the area and have gone to Matt’s Big Breakfast before, you would be happy to know that Giant Coffee is owned by the same people who opened Matt’s!
Also, did I mention that the ever so cute Bunk Boutique is located in the same building as well? Well, it is!
While at Giant Scott and I enjoyed some good coffee (americano for him, non-fat latte for me), and also shared two different baked goods.

On Its Way: Fall 2010

08.16.10
It’s almost that time of year again, and I’ve already started planning out all of my Fall activities.

(source:elsie)
On my list of things to do is to make pumpkin waffles/pancakes, carve a pumpkin, drink hot apple cider (as well as a pumpkin spice latte), and dress in Fall attire as much as I can (go away Arizona heat).
In other news, today was pretty low-key and I unfortunately didn’t take any photos. I spent a good amount of time at Coffee Bean this morning/early afternoon blog surfing, and checking my email. After Scott got off of work around 2:30 we ran a few errands for his family, and then later went grocery shopping at Whole Foods and had dinner at Qdoba. Scott and I also decided to hurry and go to the 7 o’clock showing of Inception because neither of us have seen it (we were waiting for me to get home to see it together). Needless to say, the movie blew our mind and we thoroughly enjoyed it.
Tomorrow I have a early morning dentist appointment, and then have to drop my car off to have some maintenance done.
What do you have planned for tomorrow?

Lola Coffee Date

08.15.10
As mentioned before, the other day Scott and I had a little pre-dinner coffee date at one of my favorite coffee shops in downtown Phoenix, Lola Coffee.

To me, Lola has a super sweet vibe and is always a nice place to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee. They have a really neat record player in the corner of the room that is always playing something good, and the staff is always friendly.

The Coffee Shop AZ

08.15.10
This afternoon myself, Scott, and my cousin Odessa drove down to The Coffee Shop in Gilbert, AZ. During the month of July The Coffee Shop won during an episode of Cupcake Wars on the Food Network channel (the one featuring Duff from Ace of Cakes). Anyways, we all decided that we needed to try these famous cupcakes, so off to Gilbert we went.
Scott, rocking his new Ray-Ban Clubmasters!
The Coffee Shop!
The interior of The Coffee Shop is seriously so cute, and definitely a place you can sit and relax (even though it can get a little hot in there during the AZ summer).
The pictured case had a few different flavors of cupcakes (there probably would have been more if we would have gone earlier in the morning), and it was pretty hard for me to choose just one.
Odessa decided to get a vanilla w/pink frosting and sprinkles:

Scott and I also each got a Boston Cream cupcake that looked like this:
Cousins! Think we look anything alike?

Have any of you been to The Coffee Shop yet, or any other Cupcake Wars winners’ shops? What’s your favorite kind of cupcake?
