Monday Favorites!

06.29.10

Recently, I decided to start a few new weekly/monthly features here on the Tea Talk blog. The first featured I would like to introduce to you is Monday Favorites. The plan I have for Monday Favorites is to share with you what is currently inspiring me, making me feel obsessed, or just simply love. I, as many of you as well, know that Monday’s are usually the hardest day of the week, and I feel like everyone could use a little extra inspiration on Monday’s. So here’s to a new start, and some Monday inspiration! [EDIT] This feature may, or may not last. The idea of limiting myself to displaying inspiration only on Monday’s is kind of making me feel uneasy. Anyways, we’ll see<3

Pretty sure I’m buying this pretty number in brown for the Fall semester.
She posts cute things about her life, and her blog is surely addicting.

I would love any comments/constructive criticism on my new endeavor.
Enjoy!

Murderous Honey Yarn Review

06.28.10
Awhile back I posted about a super sweet package that I received from Megan of the Murderous Honey Etsy shop. Murderous Honey carries handmade/hand dyed luxury yarns, as well as extra cute journals. Megan was kind of enough to send me a variety of different yarns to make pretty things with.

(domo cup!)
This yarn was honestly a dream to work with, and was incredibly soft. I’ve seriously never used such nice yarn before and was blow away by the quality and texture of it.
I highly recommend purchasing yarn from Megan’s shop, as you can expect top quality, amazing color, and softness with every order.
Promise to share more of my projects using Megan’s yarn in the near future!
Love,
Chelsea

Farmers Market-Carbondale, CO

06.26.10

Recently I attended a farmer’s market in Carbondale, CO. The market was fairly small, however it was full of life. There were quite a few people there, and everyone seem to have a smile on their face.

The market featured an array of goodies, as well as handmade objects. My person favorite was veggies, jams, pastries, and of course the little coffee booth.
We ended up getting a variety of pastries, and I can tell you from personal experience that they all were immensely yummy.
Did I mention that the area around the market also had the prettiest flowers:
Overall, I absolutely love farmers markets and I can’t to attend an even larger one in Grand Junction, CO when Scott gets here in about a week. Promise to share pictures of our adventure there!
Have you been to any neat farmers markets lately?

Forest Woes

06.25.10

Today I spent a lot of time outside, savoring the forest like scenery that I’m currently surrounded in. Sometimes I feel like I’m actually in Washington, or Oregon (two of my very favorite states), rather than in Colorado. It really is beautiful here. Le sigh.

Have any of you lovely readers ever spent time in the Vail/Avon/Edwards area of Colorado?

Time for sleep, and something to soothe this achey stomach.

Also, don’t forget to enter the Dolly & Boy giveaway on my blog! Picking a winner tomorrow!

Beautiful yarn courtesy of Murderous Honey!

06.24.10
The other day I received this beautiful package from Megan of the Murderous Honey Etsy shop.

The package had a sewn detail, and two extra cute stickers on the front.
The best part of the package however, was definitely the beautiful yarn that was included on the inside ( and of course the awesome knitted tie pattern):

This package seriously made my week, and I’ve been obsessed with making things out of this pretty yarn for days now.

Look back for a sweet review of Megan’s pretty yarn soon.

Also, sorry for my lack of a post yesterday. My computer has been a bit on the blitz, but things will be fixed soon.

Have a lovely evening,
Chelsea

Mountain Love Purchases!

06.21.10
Yesterday I attended the Strawberry Festival in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. This is an annual event, and one that I have been attending for years. This year I went with hope that I would find some neat handmade things (most everything there is handmade, but I was looking for a specific style). Ultimately, I was certainly not disappointed.
Only after a few moments of being at the festival I spotted this cute booth:
I immediately felt compelled to walk further and see what Mountain Love had to offer, which was a million cute handmade button necklaces, bobby pins, as well as handmade flower clips, and paper goods as well.

From the left, interchangeable magnetic necklace that I’m already in love with, bobby pins x 2, flower hair piece, and more bobby pins.
Overall I was very happy with my time spent/shopping at the Strawberry Festival, and highly suggest purchasing from Mountain Love’s Etsy shop.
Have you purchased anything that you just love from a local festival, or Etsy shop lately?
Also, don’t forget to enter the Dolly And Boy giveaway! Courtney is giving away a beautiful necklace of the winner’s choice! Winner will be picked this Friday.

Because:

06.21.10

Because he always knows how to make me smile.
Because he always makes me feel better.
Because he makes the best coffee in the world.
Because he holds my hand when we go on walks.
Because he just understands me.
Only a few of the many reason why I love John Scott.

The Italian Underground

06.19.10
The other day I had the chance to go to one of my favorite Italian resturants- The Italian Underground in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Everyone in my family was hungry, but didn’t feel like eating at the restaurant, so my mom took a little drive to the downtown area in Glenwood and picked up some yummy Italian food to-go.
The restaurant is situated in the basement of an old building that houses a boutique, and a thrift store on the first floor (I’m assuming there are apartments on the second floor).

The restaurant is at the bottom of a two really long staircases, and leads to a beautiful shiny stone floor.
The restaurant is very tiny, but that is what makes it quaint, and romantic as well. I honestly can’t wait to take Scott here when he gets to Colorado in a few weeks. I just know he will love it there!
My food was amazingly good (pesto linguini w/homemade bread), and I can’t wait to go back for another meal. Next time I promise to get spumoni ice cream for dessert as well!
Have you been to any extra unique/special restaurants lately?
