Scott and I’s morning cups of joe.

06.03.10

Recently Scott and I started recording via photograph our morning cups of coffee. As we are a part right now, I’ve found it’s a nice way to keep a usually regular routine the same in an unusual way. I also have to mention that I was slightly inspired by this lovely set of photographs that I found back in February that documented a lovely ladies’ daily breakfast.

What kind of coffee, and/or breakfast do you have in the morning? Do you usually document it?

Re-post from Merry May Handmade

06.03.10

Hey there everyone, I just saw this post on the Merry May Handmade blog and just had to repost it, as it deals with two things very near, and dear to my heart- crafting and Arizona.

Merry May Handmade said:

I am pleased to announce that Merry May Handmade will be hosting an Etsy Birthday celebration, the Etsy Craft Party on June 18th!

“Let’s celebrate! Today, along with ReadyMade and Meetups Everywhere (and you), we’re launching Etsy Craft Party, a global initiative to energize your local community, make art together, and throw a party in your neck of the woods. We want to celebrate crafting together on June 18, 2010 (which just happens to be Etsy’s birthday) with as many celebrations across the globe as possible.”

But I can’t do it alone- I need your help! Like the folks over at Etsy have described, it would be amazing for this to be a big event that brings like minded folks together to share and collaborate. That’s where you come in! Tell your friends, family , classmates, and coworkers. Another little perk- the top 50 events with the most folks RSVPed get a box full of Etsy goodies!

It will be a fantastic party complete with crepe paper, crafts and yummy goodies. There will also be a DIY project and a supply swap. Did you buy a bunch of supplies for a project you never got around to? (I do it all the time!) Or maybe you are interested in trying something new? Bring a handfull of supplies to swap- from stencils and paint to yarn or transfer paper- anything goes.

I know we can make this an amazing event and, together, begin the spread of the craft revoltion across Arizona! Check out the event page
here and be sure to email me with any questions or ideas you might have.

Hope you don’t mind me re-posting this Ashley!

Spread the word everyone!

Cartel Coffee Lab Coffee Giveaway!

06.03.10

This is a giveaway after my own heart- My friends over at Cartel Coffee Lab have graciously offered a bag of their Finca El Retiro coffee beans to one of my lucky readers!

Cartel Coffee Lab is a speciality coffee shop located in Tempe, and in Phoenix, Arizona that takes so much pride in their in-house roasting methods, and also their delicious hand-crafted drinks.
Cartel Coffee Lab is said to have the best cappuccinos in the greater Phoenix area, and I can absolutely vouch for that!
Scott and I are regulars at Cartel Coffee Lab, and absolutely love the atmosphere, friendly staff, and most importantly the coffee there.
The Finca El Retiro is a roast near to my heart, as it’s the kind of coffee I always have on hand at home for those mornings that I feel like making a pour-over, or a pot of french press coffee. This coffee is has a nice medium body taste, and will warm you right up on those chilly summer mornings (Am I the only that has chilly mornings still?).
All you have to do enter the giveaway is:
1. Be a Tea Talk follower
2. Tell me about your favorite kind of coffee, or coffee drink
3. Don’t forget to leave your email so that I can email you for your address if you win
Also, if you would like to earn an extra entry you can tweet about this giveaway! Be sure to leave a separate comment with the link to your tweet as well.
The giveaway will last one week and will end next Wednesday evening, June 9th, and the winner will be announced the following day, Thursday, June 10th.
Good luck to everyone, and feel free to spread the word.
Love,
The Coffee Addicted Chelseabird

Scott’s handmade needle organizers! Now for sale!

06.02.10
Recently, Scott made a batch of needle/pencil organizers for Ashley of Mary May Handmade!

Scott made his first organizer for me, and gave it to me last year as a part of my anniversary gift.
Today it holds my crochet needles, knitting needles, and a stitch marker. I absolutely love my organizer, and find it so handy, as well as durable (canvas + a soft fabric is always a good mix!).
Scott also made one for himself that now holds his drawing pencils.
The six previously shown organizers are now available for purchase at Merry May Handmade (located inside Butter Toast Boutique in downtown Phoenix, Arizona, right off of 6th Street and Roosevelt). Scott had a lot of fun making them, and plans on making more in the future.
Scott will be hanging out at Merry May Handmade on First Friday (this Friday), so if you’re in the area be sure and stop by and say hi to him and Ashley!
Hope everyone is having a lovely evening!

Time with the Hipstamatic App.

06.01.10
I recently downloaded the Hipstamatic App to my dad’s iPhone so that I could see what all the fuss was about (I have a Blackberry and can’t get this cute app). I decided to try it out while on a recent antiquing trip. The results:

Part of my loot from that afternoon (vintage, but brand new, camera strap, and cute rick rack + binding).
I think this app is super cute and would suggest it to anyone wanting cute polaroid type photos in a flash.

To Avon, CO I go!

06.01.10

(in Avon by the river last summer)
Tomorrow I will be going to the lovely town of Avon, Colorado. I plan on picking up a new record at the local record store, and getting an iced americano from the local coffee shop around the corner.

Ode to my former bangs.

06.01.10
On my last blog post I received a lot of really sweet comments about my former bangs. Since I’ve been going through loads of old photos I decided I would share a few more of my former bangs (juts for fun!).

Swiped to the side again, and getting longer.
I’ve considered cutting them back for ages, but my thin hair has always made me think twice. Maybe this summer I’ll take the plunge and cut them back. Opinions?
Hope everyone had a lovely Memorial Day!

London-reminiscing

05.31.10

In a bathroom in London, England when I was twenty years old. I had bangs, and was attempting to grow them out. It was very late at night.
Lately I’ve been feeling very reminiscent of my time spent in London (I believe it’s due to this book I’m reading that’s set in London). Tonight I transferred all my London photos from my old laptop to an external hard drive so that I could share a few with you. Here is the first.
Goodnight.

A trip to Steamboat Springs.

05.29.10

Earlier this week my parents and I took a trip to Steamboat Springs, CO. On my list of places to visit was Winona’s, a cute cafe in the center of town. Over the years I’ve had a few meals there and feel like it’s a must visit every time I’m in Steamboat.

I had THE most amazing tofu garden sandwich and sweet potato fries. The tofu was covered in loads of veggie and an awesome thai peanut sauces. If it wasn’t for the spiciness of this dish, I could eat it every day.
Winona’s is also well know for their pastries, so we picked up a few scones (peach, cranberry, and apple) on our way out. I happily at the cranberry scone for breakfast with my coffee the next morning.
Have you eaten anywhere lately that you really love? Is it bad that I feel like such a foodie nowadays?
