Vintage Pyrex collection.

01.06.10

A few months ago Scott and I started collecting vintage Pyrex glassware.

We started out with these two cups that we found at a local Goodwill:
Our second piece was this green loaf pan (currently holding brownies) that we found at another local thrift store:
The next few pieces were purchased at a few different antique shops in Prescott, Arizona:
I also bought two pieces for Scott for Christmas:
(Matches the casserole dish that we have!)
(Currently holding Christmas candy!)
The last few pieces that we bought were purchased at a local antique mall just this week:

We also have a few Fire King pieces (very similar to Pyrex), and Corning pieces as well:
Also, did I mention that for Christmas Scott made me these adorable Tea Talk coffee cups:
I have a set of four right now and have plans to make more!
Oh, and Scott also bought this cute cup, along with it’s mate, and is currently using it for sipping coffee and hot coco at work:

It’s Giveaway Time!

01.06.10

Hello loves,

It’s giveaway time once again here at the Tea Talk blog and we are SO SO excited for this one! The prizes are darling, and all very near to our hearts.
Here is what we are giving away:
This lovely apron that was made by John Scott. It is made out of a lovely flowery print that includes darling birds throughout. It also has a medium size pocket, and a pen pocket on the front.
  Here I am modeling it:
Also, the hand-written, by our very own John Scott, framed piece is up for grabs! It contains a quote from the famous book The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It states, “I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart. I am. I am. I am. -Sylvia Plath”.
And lastly, the lovely embroidery piece, handmade by myself, contains a partial quote that goes along with the Plath theme.
In order to enter you must A. be a follower (will verify), and B. must leave a comment stating who you favorite author is and/or favorite book (reasons why would be fun!), along with your name and email address. To get one extra entry you can tweet about our giveaway and leave a separate comment with a link to the tweet you made.
The winner will be drawn a week from today on Wednesday January 13th.
  Good luck to everyone!
       Love,
   Chelsea and John Scott!

Top ten coffee shops of 2009!

01.06.10

As many of you may know I do a lot of traveling during the summer. During my travels I try and visit any, and every coffee shop that I can while. I have decided to compile a list of my top ten favorite coffee shops of 2009. Onward…..

  10. Tammie Coe Cakes in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. They use illy espresso, need I say more.
9. Cuppers in Prescott, Arizona. They had good ice coffee, and Alice Palmers!
8. Colorado Java House in Grand Junction, Colorado. Cheap skinny vanilla lattes and friendly faces can be found here.
7. Gold Bar in Tempe, Arizona. Best hot tea ever!
6. Doghouse Espresso in Delta, Colorado. They have amazing iced coffee, and it’s connected a sweet pottery painting shop!
5. Off The Beaten Path Book Store and Coffee House in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They have really yummy lattes, and you can always pick up a good book while you’re there.
4. Liberty Market in Gilbert, Arizona. Yummy lattes and amazing food, need I say more?
3. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (Tempe Marketplace location). Fav chain coffee shops!
2. Sacred Grounds in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. All of their coffee drinks are amazing, and they serve the best pastries and veggie friendly food. LOVE it there!
1. Backcountry Coffee in Paonia, Colorado! This place was by far my favorite find this summer. They had a friendly staff, free wifi, cute and clean indoor sitting area, and didn’t charge you for that third or fourth shot of espresso. I drank SOO many four shot skinny vanilla lattes while in Paonia, and look forward to going back there this year.

A Year in Review (Oh yes, I’m doing one of these too!).

01.06.10

Tonight I thought I would put together a little year in review post for my lovely readers (you guys are seriously THE best!).

Here we go!
  January:
In January Scott, his Dad, his little sister, and myself went on a trip to Flagstaff to see the sites, and play in the snow. I also started school at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
  February-
In February Scott and I celebrated our third Valentines Day together, attended school, and also went on a mini-photoshoot with Gina Marie!
  March:
In March Scott and I had Spring Break! Scott went on a four day trip to Utah, and Colorado, and I stopped drinking soda (still going strong!).
  April:
In April I visited my cousins in Yuma, attended school, and took lots of bike rides and pictures with Scott.
  May:
In May I celebrated my 21st birthday with friends at 905 in Downtown Phoenix, and made my way to Colorado for the summer.
  June:
In June I spent time with my cousin Jarred in Colorado, traveled a lot, and went to a million different coffee shops were I sampled their skinny vanilla lattes, and iced coffee.
  July:
In July I continued to visit coffee shops, picked cherries at a cherry tree farm, and took lots of nature photos.
  August:
In August I returned to Arizona (finally!) and was reunited with my love. I also started another semester of college at ASU.
  September:
In September Scott and I went on lots of bike rides, even late night ones, and attended lots of poetry slams.
  October:
In October Scott and I celebrated so many wonderful days, including our three year anniversary and Scott’s 21st birthday!
  November:
In November Scott and I spent lots of time thrifting, going to school, working, and we also celebrated Thanksgiving together.
  December:

In December Scott and I finished up school for the semester, went on a fun trip to Prescott, Arizona, and celebrated Christmas!
All in all it was a great year. I  believe that Scott and I both learned a lot, and grew as individual people, and also as a couple.
We are both very excited for 2010 and just know that great things are coming our way!

4. If you could work anywhere or do anything what would it be? If I could work anywhere I would LOVE to work at Rolling Stone magazine. It’s been a big dream of mine since I was very little, and it’s something that I will continue to work for until I accomplish my goal.
5. What are you reading right now? Right now I am reading The Un-abridged Journals of Sylvia Plath.

6. What are you listening to? Lately I’ve been listening to FUN., Owen, and The Summer Set a lot.

8. Name your TV shows
Real Housewives, Project Runway, Keeping up with the Kardashians.
9. What are things you do everyday? Drink coffee, kiss John Scott, eat breakfast.
10. How did you find our blog?
I found this cute survey on Sandy’s blog
11. What do you like to do for fun?

12. Do you have a twitter?
Yes I do. You can find me here.
13. What was your favorite item that you received for Christmas?
My Tiffany’s heart pendant from my love!

Mini-videos!

12.29.09
For Christmas Scott got me a Polaroid digital camcorder.  The idea for this gift all stemmed from the Black Friday sale at Target. I spotted this cutie camcorder in the BF ads, and pointed it out to Scott. There is quite a silly story behind it: Scott found THE last one at the Target at Tempe Marketplace, he purchased it, wrapped it up in a bag, and figured I might not guess what it was. In the end he decided to return it, tell me that he bought it and returned it, and then went back and bought it back (he had them hold it for him!).
  Mine is red!
The camcorder shoots video, and takes pictures! Here is some of the videos and photos we shot earlier today when using it for the first time!

Scott painted this for me for Christmas! LOVE IT SO MUCH!
Ok, off to work on giveaway things!

It was one busy day!

12.27.09

Today my day was spent going to two different malls, Chandler and Scottsdale, with my cousin and Scott. I had quite a few things to exchange, so I figured it would be better to go sooner or later to ensure that what I wanted wouldn’t be sold out.

Both malls were crazy, and I only got a few things exchanged, but I have plans to go back tomorrow and finish everything up.
Among the things I went exchange today were a lovely pair of Steve Madden boots that my parents got me. I ended up just keeping the pair that I had (they didn’t have a bigger size so I just kept mine), and I am SO excited to wear them soon!
Tonight I started to think of cd’s to buy off of itunes since I received a substantial amount of money towards itunes purchases.
I ended up buying New Leaves by Owen (meant to borrow this from Scott’s best friend for awhile, but just never got around to it).
And I was about to buy the Monsters of Folk album, but the lovely Diana sent it to me via email! Thanks Diana!
I think my next purchases will be this:
  and this
If anyone has any music suggestions they would like to leave me please feel free to do so!

  Goodnight!
