Last year I made myself a note on my ipod touch and wrote down my goals/resolutions for 2009. Throughout the year I would remember that they were there and would go back occasionally to to read through them and see how I was doing with accomplishing the things on my list.
This year I have decided to write them down here, along with my blackberry for quick reference, and would love to share them with you. They are as followed:
Figure out exactly when I will be graduating with my Bachelors degree (December 2010 or May 2011)
Go on a out-of-state trip with Scott
Become a Blythe owner (soooooon<3)
Put money away for future home
Buy a Moleskin notebook
Become the owner of a Marc by Marc Jacobs bag
Eat more tofu
Spend more time on school work
Become more involved at school (hoping being a writer on the schools newspaper will do this for me)
Make coffee at home more often
Journal more
Well there you have it. What are your goals/resolutions for 2010?
What’s in my bag you ask? Well I would love to show you (feeling inspired by Leigh-Ann and Katiecupcake tonight)…
Purse= vintage Coach (1970s) giving to me as an anniversary present from Scott last year.
Purple notebook, The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath (current read, giving to me by the very generous Carly<3),>
Ipod touch, Aveda hand lotion, Special K snack bar (must always have a snack in my purse at all times), ASU ID, AMC & Sonic giftcards (Christmas presents), black pen & sharpie pen (my fav), and Whateverittakes.org pouch that was designed by Stella McCartney (I have the tote that matches).
This was a lot of fun to put together and I think everyone should do a “What’s in your bag?” post! If you do make one, please leave a comment and let me know so I can check yours out!
It’s giveaway time once again here at the Tea Talk blog and we are SO SO excited for this one! The prizes are darling, and all very near to our hearts.
Here is what we are giving away:
This lovely apron that was made by John Scott. It is made out of a lovely flowery print that includes darling birds throughout. It also has a medium size pocket, and a pen pocket on the front.
Here I am modeling it:
Also, the hand-written, by our very own John Scott, framed piece is up for grabs! It contains a quote from the famous book The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath. It states, “I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart. I am. I am. I am. -Sylvia Plath”.
And lastly, the lovely embroidery piece, handmade by myself, contains a partial quote that goes along with the Plath theme.
In order to enter you must A. be a follower (will verify), and B. must leave a comment stating who you favorite author is and/or favorite book (reasons why would be fun!), along with your name and email address. The winner will be drawn a week from today on Wednesday January 13th.
As many of you may know I do a lot of traveling during the summer. During my travels I try and visit any, and every coffee shop that I can while. I have decided to compile a list of my top ten favorite coffee shops of 2009. Onward…..
10. Tammie Coe Cakes in downtown Phoenix, Arizona. They use illy espresso, need I say more.
9. Cuppers in Prescott, Arizona. They had good ice coffee, and Alice Palmers!
8. Colorado Java House in Grand Junction, Colorado. Cheap skinny vanilla lattes and friendly faces can be found here.
7. Gold Bar in Tempe, Arizona. Best hot tea ever!
6. Doghouse Espresso in Delta, Colorado. They have amazing iced coffee, and it’s connected a sweet pottery painting shop!
5. Off The Beaten Path Book Store and Coffee House in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. They have really yummy lattes, and you can always pick up a good book while you’re there.
4. Liberty Market in Gilbert, Arizona. Yummy lattes and amazing food, need I say more?
2. Sacred Grounds in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. All of their coffee drinks are amazing, and they serve the best pastries and veggie friendly food. LOVE it there!
1. Backcountry Coffee in Paonia, Colorado! This place was by far my favorite find this summer. They had a friendly staff, free wifi, cute and clean indoor sitting area, and didn’t charge you for that third or fourth shot of espresso. I drank SOO many four shot skinny vanilla lattes while in Paonia, and look forward to going back there this year.
Tonight I thought I would put together a little year in review post for my lovely readers (you guys are seriously THE best!).
Here we go!
January:
In January Scott, his Dad, his little sister, and myself went on a trip to Flagstaff to see the sites, and play in the snow. I also started school at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University.
February-
In February Scott and I celebrated our third Valentines Day together, attended school, and also went on a mini-photoshoot with Gina Marie!
March:
In March Scott and I had Spring Break! Scott went on a four day trip to Utah, and Colorado, and I stopped drinking soda (still going strong!).
April:
In April I visited my cousins in Yuma, attended school, and took lots of bike rides and pictures with Scott.
May:
In May I celebrated my 21st birthday with friends at 905 in Downtown Phoenix, and made my way to Colorado for the summer.
June:
In June I spent time with my cousin Jarred in Colorado, traveled a lot, and went to a million different coffee shops were I sampled their skinny vanilla lattes, and iced coffee.
July:
In July I continued to visit coffee shops, picked cherries at a cherry tree farm, and took lots of nature photos.
August:
In August I returned to Arizona (finally!) and was reunited with my love. I also started another semester of college at ASU.
September:
In September Scott and I went on lots of bike rides, even late night ones, and attended lots of poetry slams.
October:
In October Scott and I celebrated so many wonderful days, including our three year anniversary and Scott’s 21st birthday!
November:
In November Scott and I spent lots of time thrifting, going to school, working, and we also celebrated Thanksgiving together.
December:
In December Scott and I finished up school for the semester, went on a fun trip to Prescott, Arizona, and celebrated Christmas!
All in all it was a great year. I believe that Scott and I both learned a lot, and grew as individual people, and also as a couple.
We are both very excited for 2010 and just know that great things are coming our way!
Here is a survey that I found over at Sandy’s cute blog and decided to fill out!

4. If you could work anywhere or do anything what would it be?If I could work anywhere I would LOVE to work at Rolling Stone magazine. It’s been a big dream of mine since I was very little, and it’s something that I will continue to work for until I accomplish my goal.

Real Housewives, Project Runway, Keeping up with the Kardashians.
9. What are things you do everyday?Drink coffee, kiss John Scott, eat breakfast.
For Christmas Scott got me a Polaroid digital camcorder. The idea for this gift all stemmed from the Black Friday sale at Target. I spotted this cutie camcorder in the BF ads, and pointed it out to Scott. There is quite a silly story behind it: Scott found THE last one at the Target at Tempe Marketplace, he purchased it, wrapped it up in a bag, and figured I might not guess what it was. In the end he decided to return it, tell me that he bought it and returned it, and then went back and bought it back (he had them hold it for him!).
Mine is red!
The camcorder shoots video, and takes pictures! Here is some of the videos and photos we shot earlier today when using it for the first time!
Scott painted this for me for Christmas! LOVE IT SO MUCH!
