(clockwise – 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

For those of you who haven’t hear yet, I’m the Head Den Mother at CAMP Texas Style Council! I’ve wanted to attend this amazing conference for years now, so I feel completely blessed to be able to have such a large part in the very last one. If you’re in need of someone to hang out with, eat lunch at the mess hall with, or even just talk through the weekend — I’m here for you!

Anyways, if you are attending and have already peeked at the official packing list (if you haven’t or are not attending at all!), this post is for you. I’ve been plotting and planning out what I’m going to be bringing with me to camp for months now, so I wanted to share with ya’ll what’s coming with me to Texas to give you some inspiration and feeling even more pumped for camp — 14 days, ladies!
I would love to hear what you’re planning on bringing to camp, or even what you might suggest — this camper newbie is all ears! Have a wonderful weekend, ya’ll!

SPRINGY

03.05.15
Spring is the air — I can feel it! While the midwest and east coast get hit by another brutal winter (thinking of you, friends!), Phoenix is enjoying lots of sunshine and a few very warm days. Since I know that this perfect weather is fleeting (100+ degree heat is closer than you think), I’m doing my best to soak in every moment while I still can. Today, I drove with the windows down while I sipped iced coffee and let the sun hit my shoulders — it was a serene moment that I’ll be pocketing and holding on to remember when the heat comes and stays for the days, weeks, and months to come.

It’s Friday eve and I’m stoked for the weekend! Scott has had a crazy week at grad school, so I’m looking forward to having him home more. I’m also in desperate need of help with my “khaki cool” look for the CAMP Texas Style Council jamboree. I feel totally comfortable packing everything else for camp – jeans, moccs, flannels, t-shirts — all my favorite things — but when it comes to “khaki” I’m totally lost. If ya’ll have any suggestions on what to wear, I would love to hear — think Troop Beverly Hills or Moonrise Kingdom!

On a little side note, I’m also so excited to to share my professional website that I just launched — chelseagoodson.com. I’ve got big plans for this little site in the months to come and can’t wait to share more with ya’ll! Anyways, have a great Thursday — I’m out for a coffee date!

FRINGE

02.27.15

When I walked out with this outfit on the other day, Scott said I looked like a modern day Clint Eastwood. Well, while I may be lacking that gritty smile and his gun slinging skills, we definitely both share a love of ponchos. This one was actually a Christmas gift and I’ve been waiting for the weather to be just right to wear it. With temps in the mid-70’s, it definitely felt like the right time to pull it out for an afternoon around town.

I can’t believe it’s already Thursday — this week has flown by! We don’t have any plans for the weekend just yet, but I’m sure there will be a coffee date (or two), lots of time spent outside and some planning/list-making for my upcoming trip to Austin for CAMP Texas Style Council! Registration closes on Monday, so if you’re planning on coming make sure to get your tickets ASAP — I can hardly wait to meet so many of your beautiful faces there!

SPRING IN MY STEP

02.25.15

The prospect of a new seasons always seem to put a spring in my step. Flowers bloomin’, birds chirpin’, our garden sprouting and growing more than ever – early spring really has been my jam lately. On top of all the spring vibes happening around our home, I’ve also been digging in my closet and pulling out a few pastels, light florals and fun headbands for my daily wears. While I’m not fully committed to kissing winter goodbye just yet, it does to feel to dress a little lighter and brighter, wouldn’t you agree?

Lately, my days have been filled lots of time with my sweet husband, great friends, ALL the coffee dates and getting my health back in order. I’ve officially had my diseased gall bladder out for six months now, and while my body is so much more healthy without it, it’s still trying to figure out how to work without it. To get everything back in order I’ve been going to the doctors, trying new medicines, exercising more and drinking lots of tea and less coffee (I knowww). I’m hoping that by my one year mark in August that all is back to normal, but until then, I just have to keep plugging away at it.

So, here’s to great health and so much happiness this spring – let’s do this, friends!

SUNLIT, SUNSET

02.18.15

How is it already the middle of February? Where has the month gone? Well, it’s easy to say that February has been a very warm and lovey dovey month around these parts. I’ve been spending every moment I can outside while the weather in Phoenix/Chandler is still enjoyable. Laying in the grass during full-sun hours has been my speciality! 😉

Outfit details: Target hat // Woolworth sweater // Jcrew & Alex & Ani bracelets // Loft jeans // Seychelles booties

Other than my daily sun worship hours (totally just kidding guys — I burn like a tomato red cherry!), things have been really picking up around here. Scott is in full grad school mode and getting ready to present a huge solo project on Friday. It’s crazy to think that his grad school days are already numbered and he’ll be graduating in May. Grad school is tough, tough and I am truly so proud of him and all of the hard work he’s done during his time in Gschool! I often think about going back to school because I love learning, but I’m not 100% on what I would go back for. Journalism, Communication Studies — what’s next? Suggestions – anyone? I’m all ears!

I’m currently jamming out to some old school Copeland at my new favorite local coffee shop – Peixoto Coffee. Not going to lie, Scott and I are crazy about this place and you can usually find us here any day of the week. They also just extended their hours a few nights a week, so I’m excited to hang out here later on the weekends. Nothing is better than a late night coffee/tea talk sesh with some good company! Amirite or am i right? 😉

What’s been the best part of your day so far today?

TT DOES DATES: CITRUS PICKIN’

02.16.15

Happy day, darlings! I hope ya’ll had a lovely dovey Valentine’s Day and a wonderful weekend. Scott and I had such a fun and low-key Valentine’s celebration, which included wandering around our local farmer’s market, citrus picking, lunch at the famous Joe’s Farm Grill (for reals – it was on DD&D) and hitting our hearts out at Top Golf. Our day was full of spur of the moment decisions, which made for the most wonderful day date. I know that sometimes we struggle with unique date ideas (after almost a decade of being together, it happens), so I thought it would be fun to share our citrus pickin’ date in hopes that it might inspire your next date with your hubby/wife/sweetheart/significant other! Because, ya know, we all need a little help and inspiration sometimes.

At a local farm, The Farm at Agritopia to be exact, they open up to the public a few times a season for U-Pick. Before you enter the orchards you can purchase a $5/lb pound or a $10/lb bag to hold all pickins’. Since citrus is in abundance right now, we could pick from orange, lemon, tangelos, blood oranges trees and more. During difference months you can also pick apples, plums and peaches here as well. So after we purchased our five pounder at got our tree map, we headed out to pick the perfect pieces of citrus.

Agritopia offers so many different kinds of oranges and lemons. Scott and I wanted to make sure we got a good variety, so we picked a few from just about every other tree in the grove. The giant lemons were probably my favorite because they reminded me of the ones I saw hanging all around in Sorrento, Italy!

While there weren’t any peaches ready yet, there were plenty of peach blossoms to admire! Peaches are harder to grow in our dry desert climate, so seeing these blossoms felt like a real treat.

Truth be told, I had the best time getting all turned around in the citrus groves with my honey. It was the most beautiful day that we’ve had in ages, and it felt so good to be out and doing something fun and unique together. I know that it’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of every day life, but taking a a few hours to enjoy life outdoors with the ones you love is such a refreshing experience!

After our bag was full to the brim, we made our way to the exit of the groves and walked away with the biggest smiles on our faces. The next time Agritopia has their U-Pick open we’ll definitely be back – hopefully next time they have peaches galore (my favorite fruit ever!). I know that many of you are getting hit hard by lots of snow right now, but I hope this post inspires you for your next warm weather date with your honey. Let me know if you plan on trying out this date idea soon!

FOUR SEASONS RESORT + GIVEAWAY

02.10.15

Hey ya’ll! I hope you had an awesome weekend and that your week is off to a great start. Today I’m really excited to share with you the amazing experience Scott and I had last weekend at the Four Seasons Hotel Resort Scottsdale at Troon North (plus a super special giveaway — so keep reading!).

We started off this gloriously warm February day by driving an hour up north to the beautiful mountainside resort that’s hidden among the saguaros and desert greenery. After wandering around the resort grounds for a bit and taking in the gorgeous views of the city from above, we headed down to the spa for our 50 minute couple’s massage. Since Scott and I are newbies at the whole massage thing I was a little nervous about what the experience might be like, but the amazing staff answered all of our questions and made us feel right at home. We left feeing refreshed, renewed and relaxed with the biggest smiles on our faces.

After our massages we headed toward Proof to share a coffee and get ready for our “Chef for a Day” experience with the resort’s executive chef. Proof is an all-amercan kind of restaurant that has the neatest retro decor and cold brew iced coffee by the bottle – which is always a good idea in my book. Everything that we saw coming out of the kitchen looked delicious and I’m really excited to have a meal there the next time we visit Troon North.

The Four Seasons Hotel Resort Scottsdale at Troon North is offering tons of fun dinner options right now, including a Valentine’s Day Dinner, Celestial Picnics and a Chef for a Day experience. While all the experiences sounded amazing, we decided to be chefs for a day and learn the ins and outs of the resort restaurants before enjoying an amazing six-course meal.

We started our evening off by taking a behind-the-scenes tour of the resort and restaurants with their executive chef, Mel. He did a wonderful job of showing and telling us all about the resort and the army it takes to run it (seriously, you would never know how busy the resort actually is from the outside because everyone is always so calm and laid-back).

After our guided tour, we took our stations on the line and did a little slicing and dicing for the evening’s dinner service. We also spent some time in the pastry room and made Nutella paletas, strawberry paletas and homemade ho ho’s (which were amazing). Once we finished up the ho ho’s, we headed out to get cleaned up and ready for dinner at Talavera.

Our six-course meal was like nothing I’ve ever experienced before, from the skillet bread to the out of this world dessert, everything was exceptionally delicious. The manager even picked up on the fact that we don’t drink alcohol, and instead of offering us wine pairings, he gave us a fancy mocktail to pair with every course we were served — one of my favorite parts of the dinner! Out of all the dishes and drinks we were served, Scott and I were both huge fans of the tuna tartare and the pineapple mocktail. Really, though, everything was gobble worthy.

To put it simply, our whole experience at the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North was amazing and we would honestly recommend this resort (or anyone Four Seasons for that matter)  to anyone who is looking for a romantic, relaxing and celebratory staycation or getaway.

In honor of the month of love, I’ve partnered with the Four Seasons to offer one lucky Tea Talk reader a $250 Four Seasons gift card that can be used at any one of their resorts. Their gift cards make for wonderful anniversary, birthday or celebratory gifts, and I’m truly SO excited to be able to give one of you the chance to experience the Four Seasons treatment.

FEBRUARY DAYS

02.06.15

Good evening, friends! It’s Friday Eve and I’m stoked from the weekend. February has started off with a BANG! We welcomed a brand new baby “nephew” into our family on Tuesday, Leo Oliver Saco, and we’re completely smitten with him. Seeing our best friends welcome their second baby was a magical experience and we couldn’t be more proud and excited for their growing family. Everyone is saying that it’s our turn now, but we’ll just have to wait and see what the future holds for us (hint: babies someday).

WEAR: 1. // Duster Cardigan – Free People  2. // Dress – Ruche 3. // Purse – Madewell 4. // Tights – We Love Colors 5. // Booties c/o Blowfish Shoes

I’ve been doing a lot of brainstorming, researching, planning, preparing and scheming around here lately. 2015 is going to be a really big year for Tea Talk and I’m really looking forward to all that is to come for this blog of mine. For starters, I’ll be attending the final Texas Style Council this March! I’ve been wanting to go for years and years now, and while I’m so sad that this is the very last one, I’m so excited to finally meet so many sweet gals that I’ve connected with and become friends with over the past six years that I’ve been penning Tea Talk. A little birdie told me that tickets are starting to sell out, so buy yours now! CB xo

PEIXOTO COFFEE

02.03.15

A new coffee shop opened up in our tiny downtown – Peixoto Coffee! Downtown Chandler has been severely lacking a good coffee shop, so when Scott and I saw their coming soon sign (check out the photo + Scott’s pure excitement here) we literally jumped for joy. While their windows were covered up at the time, I may have tried to peek through so I could get a sneak peek of the inside — the view of the wooden tables and unique lightening sold me right then.

After posting that photo on Instagram, we connected with the sweet owners and were invited to their upcoming Friends and Family opening — a dream come true for these coffee lovers who were keen on getting one of their very first brews.

The opening came and the coffee shop was absolutely packed – wall to wall people, which was an awesome sight to see. After admiring the space for a bit, complete with church pews, industrial lighting and vintage chairs, we perused the menu and ordered a few of our favorites – a pour over and a hot americano.

The husband and wife team who opened this charming coffee shop were there all day to greet customers and share the story of their family coffee bean business. Their Brazilian roast, which is what they use for their drip delicious coffee, comes straight from their family’s farm in the Alta Mogiana region of Brazil. With a 100 years of tradition in the crop-to-cup method, it’s easy to see how passionate they are and how much pride Peixoto takes in each cup they make.

Since their soft opening, we’ve been back every day! They’re coffee is amazing, the atmosphere is top-notch and the staff there is so, so nice. If you live in the Phoenix area, Peixoto Coffee is definitely a must try – you won’t be disappointed.
Have you recently discovered a new favorite coffee shop? What’s your go-to coffee drink?

INTO THE FOG

02.01.15

Today, on the first day of February, I woke up to a foggy wonderland outside of my window. In a state of utter dismay (this never happens in our little town), I woke up Scott by yelling, “look at the window!” After his first glance of our foggy view, we threw on our coats and boots and headed for the fields near our home to take in the gorgeous fog as it surrounded us.

This simple story may sound silly, but it’s truly these little moments that make feel so alive and inspired. We had such a wonderful time enjoying the fog, taking silly and serious photos and enjoying each others company in the wee hours in the morning. It’s mornings and adventures likes these where I feel so thankful to be married to the love of my life. He not only partakes in my crazy adventures and ideas, but encourages them and continually pushes me to be a better, happier and more creative person. Love you lots, JSG.

It’s Super Bowl Sunday and even though the big game is in town, Scott and our spending our day at home working on a few projects and taking in this foggy and cold turned gorgeous and sunny day.
What are you up to today? What makes you feel alive and inspired?
