Sweet Dreams: DIY Velvet Headbord

A few months before Ace was born, Scott and I decided to upgrade our bed from a queen to a king size mattress. Looking back, our queen felt SO small and it makes me giggle thinking about Scott, myself, two cats and one giant pregnancy pillow squished all into our tiny bed. Luckily, we upgraded our bed a few months before our little guy made his big entrance and we all had that much more space to stretch out in. What didn’t happen before his arrival, though, was the completion of our DIY velvet headboard — because, well — we were a bit preoccupied with other things for the little guy! 😉 Anyways, keep on reading to learn how we made our velvet, king size headboard for under $250!

Ace’s Newborn Photos

Our sweet baby boy is eight months old! I keep asking myself, where has the time gone? It feels just like yesterday we were in this moment, holding our two week old son in our arms and soaking in all the newborn goodness that these days brought. Our dear friends Kelsey and Michael came over when Ace was just about two and a half weeks old and snapped these photo of our brand new family of three in our home. I will cherish these photos and moments caught in time forever.

Mother’s Day Gift Guide

With my first Mother’s Day (with our little guy earth side) right around the corner, I’ve found myself feeling more sentimental than ever. I shared a little bit about our plans for our special day and my love for jewelry in my last post, but really — my love for tiny gold rings and initial necklaces is engrained in me thanks to my mom and grandmother who taught me how sentimental jewelry could be growing up. Our Desert Maternity Photos

Five and 1/2 months later and here I am finally sharing our maternity photos — but better late than never, right! 😉 Anyways, we took our maternity photos at 34 weeks pregnant with the incredibly talented Lynette of Hovering Heart Photography! Her film photography is just so dreamy and I knew I had to have her to capture this incredibly special moment in our lives. We shot these photos in one of our favorite desert areas outside of Phoenix and loved every moment of shooting our last set of photos as a duo.
