IT’S A BOY!

06.17.18

Baby Goodson is a boy and we couldn’t be more thrilled! Scott and I had our 20 week ultrasound/anatomy scan on Friday and finding out the gender of our baby was at the top of our list. I truly wish I could be one of those people who waited until the baby’s birth to find out the gender (like my mom did with me), but I am such a planner and really wanted to have clear vision of what to expect — lots of pink or lots of blue! However, we are ecstatic to finally know that a baby boy will be joining our crew this fall and just know he’s going to be adorable and super handy later in life (just like his dad, haha).

Backing up to Friday morning — we were so excited fo finally have this appointment and to be hitting the half way mark! We went into our appointment not knowing if we would be welcoming a baby boy or girl into our family, although — I will say that we were thinking that we were having a girl, mostly because we’ve always had a strong vision that a little girl would be a part of our family one day (and let me be honest — I know nothing about little boys!). After our ultrasound our doctor was SO sweet and told us that it doesn’t mean we couldn’t be welcoming a little girl next time. Cue the tears — I swear I’ve been so emotional the past two days since we found out. I am just so, so incredibly thankful to know that we have a healthy, happy baby on the way — because at the end of the day, that’s all any parent hopes for.

After our appointment we called my folks to tell them the good news! They’re currently out of state and since they wouldn’t be here for our gender reveal get-together (more on that later), we wanted to share with them right away. Which again, brought more tears to my eyes! I swear I haven’t been quite this emotional during my pregnancy thus far, but I have a feeling that these tears are just a small dose of what’s to come as baby and I get bigger and I feel him kicking more — which he’s actually doing right now!

Aside from just calling and telling our family and friends the good news, we thought it would be to have a small get-together to share the word. The amazing folks over at Park Haus, an incredible Airbnb right off of downtown Gilbert, graciously let us use their space to share the news of our baby boy! We wanted to keep things pretty casual, so we ordered Rudy’s BBQ for dinner and grabbed drinks and desserts at Costco. We actually had Rudy’s for our rehearsal dinner before our wedding, so it felt like tradition at this point. We also decorated the house with pink and blue balloons, chamomile flowers and and an “Oh Baby” sign — again, super casual and felt just like us!

Once everyone arrived, we decided to share the good news! We had a big black balloon filled with blue confetti and Scott did the honor of popping it in front of our family and friends! I swear a giant, audible “Awwwwwh” was let out by everyone and lots of hugs and “I knew it” were shared soon after. Our sweet friend, Katie, had made a little boy and girl sign that everyone had to sign/put down there guess before the party started — and although team girl seemed to winning, everyone immediately turned to team blue once the word is out! We’re having a mini Scott they all said, which sounds like the cutest thing to me!

Once we found out the good news and shared with our family and friends on Friday, we decided to take an extra day to share the good news here! Just like when we found out we were pregnant, it felt nice to have a little time to ourselves  to celebrate our baby boy together. We event went out and  bought a few baby clothes, like this little onesie and hat from Local Nomad and this sweater from Nordstrom, and also had a few celebratory treats at Urban Cookies — Scott even had one of their Father’s Day specials, a maple bacon donut with a giant piece of bacon on it!

And today, Scott’s first Father’s Day, feels that much more special because we know that we’re celebrating him and our baby boy — who I know will be attached at the hip and making all the fun projects together down the road. Happy Father’s Day, my love, you’re going to be the best dad EVER!

Thank you all SO much for celebrating with us! We couldn’t be more grateful and excited to meet this baby boy come November! Until then, please send me lots of links to cute baby boy clothes — I’m officially on the hunt!

Five Easy Ways To Unwind

06.12.18

Sponsored by Zappos!

Ever since I can remember, I’ve always thrived off of being a busy bee! Whether it was in grade school or high school going from one activity to another, or in college when I was handling a full-time schedule, working at the student magazine and blogging here (yes, I’m sure you can find me talking about that time of my life somewhere in this old blog of mine). While things are slightly different today and less homework is involved (thank goodness!), I am still living that busy life and can usually be found juggling work, home life, this blog and our small business. And ya know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way!

However, I will say that during the past 19 or so weeks, I have found myself focusing more time on myself — relaxing and unwinding in-between these busy moments — including switching up my regular flats for something with a little more cushion and comfort! In celebration of these comfy and relaxing moments, I’ve teamed up with the my favorite folks over at Zappos and Comfortiva to share how I styled up their Blossom sandals (which I’ve been obsessed with lately) and sharing five easy ways to unwind — on a budget for that! 😉

Five Easy Ways To Unwind —

1. Go for a sunset walk! — This is something Scott and I do at least three times a week and is always something that gets us moving together and talking about our day — whether we were apart or together, it’s so nice to be able to connect while we get our bones moving too (exercise always makes me feel my best).

2. Catch up on your favorite shows or YouTube channels! — Who else has a list of shows that they love to watch during the week but don’t often have time to catch them all? Guilty! I tend to save up my favorite shows and then sit down (or lay down if I’m being honest) and watch them when I’m needing a little rest and break. Among my favorites lately — Southern Charm, Total Bellas and Little People Big World!

3. Water your plants and wipe down the leaves! There is something just so relaxing about caring for your plant babies! I tend to do this once a week (depending on how much water each plant needs) and always find myself feeling more calm than when I started.

4. Take yourself out for a coffee/tea date! This is something I started doing in high school and still do today. I always feel good after a little coffee or tea date. Usually Scott and I go together when we just need to take a moment to unwind/take a break from the bustle of everyday life, but going by yourself is totally great too!

5. Spend time with your family and friends! There’s nothing like time spent with your loved ones, whether you just stop by for ten minutes or a few hours — family and friends have this way of making a person so calm and at peace with whatever chaos may be going on that day!

What are some of your favorite ways to unwind? I hope ya’ll found this post helpful! I would love to hear — have you tried out any Comfortiva sandals before? Zappos currently has some super comfy styles in stock, so be sure to head on over to their section to check out their latest picks! I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I’ll be back soon!

Around Our Home — 19

06.11.18

Where have the past few months gone? I believe I haven’t posted a peek into our home since sometime in March — which makes sense because that’s when my first trimester symptoms were kicking in and I spent most evenings going to bed early rather than staying up and blogging. However, I am happy to be in that sweet spot of the second trimester now and sharing more about our journey and experience here, along with getting back to our regularly scheduled program. Anyways, April and May were wild — feeling that first trimester, spending lots of time with family, prepping a big surprise and move for my work family (into a rad new office space), announcing that our little baby is on their way, turning 30, exploring NYC, my first Mother’s Day — wow! April and May were truly bananas (in the best possible way)! Ready for a few recent peeks into our home? Without further ado —

Five Funny Facts About Us

06.07.18

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about who Scott and I are as a couple as we get ready to welcome the newest member of our family come November! We’re partners of nearly 12 years, husband and wife, small business owners, best friends, home owners and so much more, but at the heart of it — we’re still just two young kids in love so, excited about life and where the years will take us! Many of you have been following our journey here for the past nine years and have seen us celebrate dating anniversaries, our engagement, wedding and now — our first baby! And while I know I’ve shared so much about us over the years, I was feeling extra inspired tonight by the one and only Jenna Kutcher and wanted to share my own five funny facts about us — the mom and dad to be! 😉

Five Funny Facts About Us –

  • I interviewed Scott and his band a few weeks after we first met because I wanted to write about them for my online music zine (The Canvas Zine, haha). I recorded the interview and still have it on a cassette tape today — but I’m too embarrassed to listen to it, haha! I for sure need to have it transferred to a digital file one day for our grandkids to listen to!
  • I’m really good at tidying our house, but Scott is really good at deep cleaning. I can make things look like they’re clean in a jiff, but having it actually clean is a whole different story, haha! PS I bet this will change with the baby — gotta keep our space tidy AND clean for our little one!
  • Scott holds in his sneezes and I tell him to let them out every. single. time!
  • I’m really good at falling asleep just about anywhere (the couch, the chair, smack dab in the middle of the bed on top of the covers), and poor Scott is tasked with getting me in the actual bed most nights — retainers in and all, haha! He’s a real good sport, I tell ya!
  • Sometimes Scott makes late night purchases and usually tells me about them when I’m half asleep — last night, it was tickets to see The Get Up Kids! 😉 To be fair, I do this too! I’ve been known to set my alarm for the middle of the night to order pieces from the latest Sezane collection, haha!

I would love to hear five funny facts about you or about you and your partner — we all have our quirks and it’s those funny things that make us unique, so why not share and make everyone feel a little less alone in their late night shopping habits and bedtime antics! 🙂

My First Trimester Of Pregnancy, Part II

06.04.18

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, the first trimester of pregnancy is a whirlwind! If you haven’t read part I of my first trimester of pregnancy update, I would definitely suggest starting there and then coming back here to get the rest of the scoop on my personal experience. On that note, onto the second part of my update, including more stories, what I’ve learned, experienced, been craving and more!

Anyways, after we took our own time to soak in our exciting news we started sharing with our closest family and friends — and I also made my first OB appointment, which felt wild in itself! I actually wasn’t expecting to go into the doctors until I was 8 weeks (just from what I’ve heard about other people’s experiences), so I was a bit surprised when they wanted me to come in sooner to confirm the pregnancy. A week or so later I found myself in my OB’s office taking my first (of many) blood and urine tests and confirming with our amazing NP that we were, in fact, pregnant. She gave us the rundown of what to expect early on and answered any questions we had. From here, they would call us with my blood work results and we would take our appointments from there — which is where our story gets a little more fun (and anxious)!

A few days after my initial appointment, a nurse from our OB’s office gave me a call to share that my blood test showed my progesterone being a little high, which meant I could be further along than I thought. At this point, I was like no way — I knew my dates couldn’t be wrong (knowing a few other things my body went through during this time), and I just didn’t think it would be possible to be further along then I thought I was — especially after getting a negative test result the month before. Out of curiosity (and just being the general worry wart I am), I asked the nurse what else could be causing this — her answer, twins. WHAT?! And that was it, the call ended shortly after I sat for a good 30 minutes at work, in shock might I add, until I could get home and freak out in front of Scott since no one at my work knew yet. Looking back — I shouldn’t have worried like I did, either way — all would have been fine and amazing, but I couldn’t seem to let the fear of two amazing babies entering our life at once go (especially because I figured we had a high chance of this being reality with two sets of twins in my near immediate family).

Anyways, I spent a whole week worrying about what our future may look like, along with my pregnancy, labor, etc. I walked into my first ultrasound appointment a ball of nerves (they had us come in the following week to have a good look at everything), but I left feeling at peace knowing that what was meant to be was meant to be — and that was one growing baby giving us a good hand wave as the tech snapped away.  Just minutes before this I found myself not being able to concentrate during the ultrasound until I asked the tech, “there’s just one in there, right.” “Yes,” she said! From here, the tech confirmed I was a little over three weeks ahead and even closer to meeting our little one than we thought — a sigh of relief washed of me! Just one baby, for now — but maybe twins in the future! 😉

Aside from this wild week, the first trimester of my pregnancy was quite a dream — with a few small hiccups along the way, of course! Here’s the rundown —

Symptoms:

The nausea I was expecting to come never did, but the bloating and menstrual cramps that I usually feel with my monthly cycle were out in full force! WOW — I feel like people don’t talk about this often enough, so when I was hit with major cramps every single night I was caught a bit off guard. In retrospect, I know now that this was just my bodying stretching and making room for our little baby and that drinking lots of water definitely helps (drinking water has been hugely important throughout my pregnancy — and even though I was a big water drinker before, I’m an even bigger one now). I also felt a tiny bit of nausea if I didn’t have anything in my stomach, but I learned to always be prepared with a snack or two hiding in my purse at all times. Oh, and the bloating — I swear it looked like I was showing super early, but looking back — it was definitely the bloat overtaking my body and making my bump look even bigger than it was.

Cravings:

Truthfully, I haven’t craved anything crazy (yet)! In the beginning, I definitely had that carb craving and wanted GF pizza, crackers and pasta, but I also still felt good eating my usual meals — salad for lunch and oatmeal for breakfast (my everyday go-to’s). I did notice that I started to need more food and found myself packing extra snacks — GF breakfast bars, nuts and different fruits. With the IBS and gallbladder issues I’ve had over the years, I’m a pretty healthy eater overall — so I was happy to see that translate into my pregnancy. Don’t think that I haven’t indulge in GF cookies, almond milk ice cream and sour candies! In fact, one morning I had to run into the grocery store before work and saw a big bag of sour gummy candies and continued to buy and eat almost the entire bag during my 8am drive — haha. If that’s not a craving, I don’t know what is!

Essentials:

I started taking pre-natal vitals well before I got pregnant, but the two that I’ve tried are this one and this gummy version (would definitely suggest the gummy version, as the horse pill ones were a bit hard on my stomach). I’ve also tried out a few stretch mark creams and so far my favorite has been this one by Burt’s Bees (fragrance free and very thick). I also found  a hairband to be an essential early on — ya know, just in case my pants became too tight and I needed a little extra room! Oh, and for those moments of nausea that may hit — I found out about these Preggie Pop Drops via Kim of Eat Sleep Wear and immediately bought them from Target just incase I would need them, and while my nausea hasn’t been bad at all (knock on wood — I’ve only thrown up once), I have tried them and can attest that they do work!

Lessons Learned:

  • Don’t let fear of the unknown take over your pregnancy. What is meant to be will be — and I know that it’s easy to say that in retrospect, but I promise — you and your little one(s) are in the best of hands!
  • Listen to you body!
  • Rest, relax and drink lots of water!
  • Don’t forget, you’re growing a human — so be easy on yourself.
  • Enjoy your first trimester as much as possible — it truly goes by so quick!

Alright, I think it’s time to wrap things up here and start sharing more weekly updates with you! I’m currently 18 weeks pregnant and truly feeling so good — I even felt the baby for the first time today! I’ve had a few moments where I was like is that the baby, or maybe now — but this is REAL ya’ll, and it’s so beautiful and wild all at once. I’ve also been sharing mini-weekly updates over on my Instagram feed, but will be sharing more here about what I’m experiencing, loving and up to throughout the upcoming weeks — I’ll be playing a bit of catch-up of the early weeks of my second trimester here too, so stay tuned!

Before I go, I also wanted to say that I couldn’t be more thankful for the love and encouragement everyone has so kindly shown Scott and I since announcing our big news. We are so, so grateful to be able to have this journey and can’t wait to meet our little one come November! Oh, and just like last time — I would love to hear if any of you mommas or mommas-to-be had a similar experience as I, or if you have any tips, tricks or favorite items that you love and helped you to survive the first semester of pregnancy!

My Favorite Spring Must-Haves & Getaways with Hush Puppies & Zappos

05.29.18

Sponsored by Zappos!

Summer may be starting to creep it’s head into our days, but since it’s still officially spring — I’ve got a spring getaways on the mind! I’ve teamed up yet again with the sweet folks at Zappos and Hush Puppies to share how I styled up their Chardon Fisherman sandals while we prepped for our next spring getaway. We’re fortunate enough that Phoenix is only a quick drive to so many sought after vaca destinations, and we surely have taken full advantage of this fact over the years. Palm Springs, San Diego, Los Angeles, Las Vegas are just a few of the hot spots that are less than six hours (err — plus or minus depending on traffic) and ones we’ve explored together over the past 12 years. Curious as to what I always make sure to pack during our spring adventures, or what my favorite stops are in these gorgeous cities? I’ve got you covered!

When I’m packing for a spring getaway, the first thing that goes into my suitcase is a comfy pair of sandals/walking shoes — we tend to do a lot of walking during our trips, whether it be on the beach down in San Diego, downtown in Palm Springs or along the strip in Las Vegas (and let’s be real — we haven’t done this in a long time, haha). Next up, a cozy sweater or jean jacket to have just in case I get cold during those cool spring evenings! A small back pack or crossbody purse is up next, followed up by a hat on my head before we’re out the door (well, that and a few other essentials, ya know). This spring/summer I have a feeling I’ll be getting a lot of use out of my Chardon Fisherman sandals, especially now that comfy shoes are a MUST as I get further along in my pregnancy.

Aside from my packing list, I wanted to share a few of my favorite places and spaces in our favorite quick getaway cities. Palm Springs is know for their trendy hotels and desert views, but did you know that they have super cute coffee shops and the first cactarium EVER?! Check out more of my favorite PS haunts here!

San Diego is probably our most favorite weekend getaway — it’s just over five hours from Phoenix and since the climate there is SO different from Phoenix, it really feels like we’re getting out of our own element (no cactus, just palm trees in sight). I shared all about our favorite places in San Diego last year, and truthfully — they all still ring true! Lofty Coffee, The Taco Stand, Moonlight State Beach — all amazing places to sip, eat and relax at during your time in the greater SD area!

I hope ya’ll found this post helpful with your spring/summer travel plans! We’ll be heading to SLC for sure this summer, but other than that — we’ll just see where the wind takes us (and this bump along for the ride, of course)! Anyways, I would love to hear — have you tried out any Hush Puppies shoes or sandals before? Zappos currently has some super comfy Hush Puppies styles in stock, so be sure to head on over to their section to check out their newest picks! I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I’ll be back soon!

My First Trimester Of Pregnancy, Part I

05.24.18

Wowwwee, where do I begin? With our the big news of our baby bird officially out, I’m so excited to share more about my pregnancy thus far. Truthfully, I’ve been debating as to what and how much to share of our early experiences, as those first 12 weeks felt so emotional, overwhelming, thrilling, scary, beautiful and so many more feelings that so easily can overtake your every thought and move. Truthfully, I figured that I would just start writing and let flow out what would, but in true Chelsea fashion — I mulled over even this idea (I’m a chronic over-thinker!), but what I’ve come to realize is that through these past few months I have been quite an open book — it’s like this sweet baby has already brought out a more sharing, connection seeking side of me that has left me wanting to share my own story and connect with other mommas and mommas-to-be.

Early on, I became obsessed with reading any pregnancy tips, favorites, questions and weekly updates I could get my hands on — especially those from those very early weeks where you’re feeling your body moving and changing, but don’t really know what to think of it yet. One of my long-time favorite vloggers, Fleur De Force, shared many of her thoughts and tips from her early weeks when she was pregnant with her daughter and she totally inspired me share my own experience. I will say that hearing another momma-to-be’s feelings, tips and experiences is by no means anything you should judge your own pregnancy on, but for me hearing these similar words and experiences from someone else going through this same wild journey felt so comforting and truthfully kept me from laying awake each and every night (seriously, I was a ball of nerves early on — even though I didn’t have a reason to worry, I still did)!

Anyways, with all that said I am so happy to finally be writing down my own thoughts and experiences from my first 12 weeks of pregnancy with the hope that it can help someone else who may be in the early days of this whirlwind and incredible experience that we’ve been so blessed with! Now that the tears are flowing on my end (hormones, I tell ya), here’s how we found out, more about what I’ve learned, experienced, found helpful, have been craving and have loved thus far (which may come in Part II of this post if it gets too long, haha).

We found out we were pregnant at four weeks! I had been feeling a little off for a few days and had this strong feeling that I was pregnant — the biggest indicator being that my breasts were sore. I was actually so nervous to take a test, but early one morning I told myself I was going to get up, take one, walk away and wake up Scott so we could look together. Well, it didn’t actually pan out that way because I took the test and then couldn’t take my eyes off of it as I sat it down and watched the plus sign appear within seconds. I yelled for Scott, who was still sleeping, and he ran into the bathroom half asleep but already knowing what I was going to tell him — he said my tone and yell gave it away, haha. We are pregnant! WOW! Now, this didn’t come as a shock to us as we were trying, but finding out was still one if not THE most surreal experiences I’ve had in my whole life. This was really happening — we were going to have a baby, a perfect mix of the two of us! A baby we had talked about for 10+ years and had hoped and prayed for, especially over the past few years as we talked about and debating on when we should start our family. I feel like that could be a whole separate post, but truthfully — we were so ready and so thrilled for it finally be happening!

From here, we took the weekend to experience the early moments of this journey we were embarking on. Keeping this secret was my by far one of the hardest things I’ve done yet, as we just wanted all of our family and friends to know — but waiting and surprising each family member and our sweet friends was so, so worth it!

On that note, I’ve decided to split this post into two parts — as I have one more story to share, along with more about what I’ve learned, experienced, found helpful, have been craving and more! Oh, and fun fact about these photos — these were actually our first set of photos together while pregnant! We didn’t know at this point, but some folks noted that I was awfully glowy in that first picture. I guess that pregnancy glow is a real thing, right? 😉

I would love to hear if any of you mommas or mommas-to-be had a similar experience as I, or if you have any tips and tricks for surviving the first semester of pregnancy!

Parisienne Style with Zappos & Arche

05.22.18

Sponsored by Zappos!

Let me start by saying that the last few months have been a whirlwind! Growing a baby is hard work, especially in those early days when you’re potentially so sick, very bloated (raises hand) and feel like you can sleep for days (also me!) — but through all of this daily life must go on, even when all I wanted to do was lay in bed, haha. I say this all light heartedly, of course, because I really didn’t intend to take a mini blogging break — but truthfully, I needed some rest these past few months and now feel so excited and ready to be back! These photos were actually taken around 11 weeks pregnant and have just been waiting for me to get to the energy back to write a full post. However, it feels good to be back in the blogging game and I’m thrilled to finally be sharing this fun post with you — inspired by one of my favorite styles, Parisian. I’ve teamed up with the sweet folks at Zappos and Arche to share how I styled up their classic Lily flat for spring with a little French flair!

When we were in Paris this past summer, I tried to take in as much fashion inspiration as possible! Parisians are very fashionable, but it seems the key to their popular style is to keep things simple and laidback. Oh, and don’t forget to throw your jacket over your shoulders — it will make you feel instantly chic!

These Lily flats have become a staple in my wardrobe — they’re ultra comfy, go with just about everything and they’re made in France. With Baby Goodson on the way, I’m not quite sure when our next French holiday will be — but I do know these are coming with us on our next trip to their homeland!

I would love to hear — have you tried out any Arche shoes before? Zappos currently has some lovely and super comfortable Arche styles in stock, so be sure to head on over to their section to check out their spring picks — everything from French classics, metallics and
resort wear!
I hope everyone is have a lovely week and I’ll be back soon!

We’re Pregnant!

05.01.18

Scott and I are thrilled to announce that Baby Goodson is due in November! It still feels SO surreal to write these words down and say them out loud, but I’m just so ready to shout them to the world — WE’RE PREGNANT! This is the best and biggest secret Scott and I have ever had to keep, but we couldn’t be more grateful and thankful for this tiny baby “bird” that is growing inside of me. Scott and I have talked about having a family of our own for over a decade now, so to finally be in this moment with our first baby on the way feels incredibly joyous and even better than I could have ever hoped for! We’re going to be parents! ECK!

I’m currently 13 weeks along and feeling so great! I was blessed with an easy first trimester and seemed to have dodged that dreaded morning sickness (thanks to my mom and her good genes). The first three months were mostly filled with cravings for cheese, pizza and sour candies, along with menstrual like cramps that I was hoping to leave behind for a few months. I learned through my experience that not a lot of people talk about all the stretching and cramps you can feel during your first trimester, but I’m here to tell you that those dull aches and pains couldn’t be more worth it.

Scott and I have been pretty over the moon since we found and have loved sharing the news with our family and friends over the past few weeks. I will admit, though, I have been much more nervous to share our news than Scott! Although everything has been perfect and moving along just fine, I was so anxious to say those two little words — I even had to write it in a card to my folks, haha! I’m really not one to like drawing a lot of attention to myself, so having such a big moment over and over again has been equally incredible and daunting. I’m not sure if any of you mommas or mommas-to-be have felt the same way, but I have been feeling more relieved lately at the thought of sharing our news and now want everyone we love to know and share in this journey with us.

Among our favorite moments so far during our pregnancy — seeing a positive test result, getting to tell our parents that they’re going to be grandparents (first grandbaby on both sides), seeing our little own on the ultrasound for the first time and hearing the beating of their heart — this moment hit me hard, and although it went by so fast, that first sound of baby’s heartbeat is something I’ll never forget.

We don’t know the sex of Baby Goodson just yet, but we are SO excited to find out! We both have a strong feeling of what baby bird is, but either way we will be SO elated to have a happy and healthy baby join our family. We probably won’t be able to find out the sex for another seven weeks, which feels like an eternity and no time at all. These past 13 weeks have seemed to go by so quickly and I’m truly trying my best to savor each moment — watching my body grow and change as I know our little one is doing as well. Ya’ll, I’m in tears over here just writing this post and I am SO happy to finally be able to share our big secret that we’ve been keeping to ourselves for over three months now!

I promise to share more updates, thoughts on my first trimester and maybe even some bump style photos here soon, but until then — here’s to a whole new amazing and incredibly exciting chapter in our lives!

With all of our love,

Chelsea, Scott and Baby Bird Goodson xo

TURQUOISE IN THE DESERT WITH JTV

04.29.18

This post was sponsored by JTV. I was paid for this post and received JTV jewelry pieces as compensation.

The flowers are blooming, the birds are chirping and the winter weather has officially wrapped up for the season — it’s safe to say that spring has officially hit the desert! While I’m not quite ready for the hot, hot heat that the spring and summer months can bring, I am excited to be rocking my favorite spring styles, including a few new pieces of turquoise jewelry that have made their way into my jewelry box this season! Turquoise is said to represent creativity, serenity, and balance, each of which is so important to me in my daily life – especially as another busy season of life rolls around!

Turquoise jewelry holds a very special meaning in my heart, one I don’t think I’ve ever shared here before – although, you’ve seen me rocking this sacred stone for years. Back in the 1960’s and 1970’s, my grandfather owned a jewelry business and sold rings, necklaces and bracelets of all types, with his specialty being turquoise pieces. When I was in my teens, my grandmother gifted me several items that my late grandfather kept in his personal collection, including a collection of sterling silver and turquoise rings. Today, these pieces mean so very much to me and I’m excited to pass them down to my future children one day – from one generation to the next.

If you’re like me and always on the hunt to add to your turquoise collection, JTV carries an amazing selection of turquoise jewelry – including every piece I’m rocking in this post! Among my favorites, these adjustable bracelets and statement rings! They add so much character to any spring outfit!

I hope everyone’s weekend is going well! I know those spring temps seem to still be making their way around the country, but just know that I’m sending warm vibes your way from sunny Phoenix. In the meantime, I would love to hear what spring styles you’re excited to rock this year! Also, don’t forget to check out JTV and their selection of turquoise jewelry – promise you’re going to want every piece! Oh, and use the promo code JTVFREE for free shipping on all orders!
