A View From The Top

Can you believe that I still have more amazing photos to share that Sarah took of Scott and I? Truly though, I’m incredibly thankful for these sweet photos and will cherish them forever. Maybe I should look into making them into a Blurb book. Anyone every had any luck with that before?

These photos were taken on the top floor of a parking structure in downtown Phoenix. The sun was almost set, and the view was breathtaking. Scott and I had been up here a few years ago when I was still going to school in downtown, and thought it would be perfect to bring Sarah up there.
I LOVE all the city lights in this one (and our giggling expressions).
And right as this photo was taken, there was a security guard standing watch over us. At least he was nice enough to let us finish with our photos before he told us we had to leave. Oh, what a funny moment it was!

Bird Is The Word

So I’ve already proclaimed my love for “put a bird on it,” and now I want to tell you that I’m still so into birdie tops. What’s not to love about a fun pattern that completely matches your identity? I’m not sure, but I sure am in love with this blouse from Lulus. The blue is just that kick of color that I need in my life, and the sweet print is totally me. I also love the extra length in the back, and how sheer it is (perfect for the warm days we’ve been having around here!).

Scott is such a good sport and lets me take photos of him occasionally. He also holds my purse, my coffee, and usually my sunglasses while he takes outfit photos for me. To say I’m lucky would be an understatement. I’m so thankful that he’s so supportive of something that I love to do.

And sometimes I sneak drinks of my iced coffee in between photos.

Today I have some school work to power through. Lately, grad papers are ruling my life. During my undergraduate I did A LOT of writing, but even though I’ve had all that practice, I still find myself struggling a bit. Research/conference papers are a completely different style of writing, but I’m definitely using the skills I do have to make them more manageable. I try to take my papers one section at a time, and then decide to come back later once I feel I just can’t write anymore. So far things have been working out nicely, but now I really need to kick things up a notch and really tie everything together. I can do this, right?

Love & Support

Today I’m so thankful for this guy and all his loving support. I wouldn’t be where I’m at today if it wasn’t for his encouragement and love (and always telling me everything will be ok).
Today we’re sipping delicious coffee and teas and being thankful for our sweet life together. I swear, I’m the luckiest lady. Also, I feel like I can’t even tell you enough how thankful I am for my sweet friends in The Phoenix Style Collective. I’m so blessed to be surrounded by such amazing, talented, thoughtful, hardworking, loving people.

Arizona Blogger Conference 2012

The Arizona Blogger Conference! almost here! Purchase tickets at our Eventbrite page!

The date has been set for the Arizona Blogger Conference. On Saturday, April 28, blogging enthusiasts from all over the state will get out from behind their computer screen and come together for an evening of fun with other blog chatting, instagraming, outfit posing, ladies and gentleman!

The conference will take place at the beautiful Saguaro hotel in Scottsdale, starting at 5 p.m. There will be plenty of drinks, bites and treats to enjoy, a photobooth, a raffle for fabulous prizes from businesses in our state, and styling station by Madewell. We’ll have fashion booths where the Agency Arizona will show you the best ways to pose, a friendship bracelet station, latte art, and more. And of course, there will be goodie bags!

The main event will bring together a panel discussion with local blog experts and professionals, spilling their secrets about the ins and outs of successful blogging. They’ll share best practices for shooting and posting photos, building partnerships with companies, how to make sure your personal brand is cohesive, and share the behind the scenes of their own wonderful blogs. A great chance to meet some of your blog favorites!

Great Gatsby

These photos are a bit belated, but the outfits were just too good not to share. At the beginning of March Scott and I got dressed up for Courtney and her twin brother Phil’s Great Gatsby themed birthday party at The Duce in Phoenix.

Even though Scott and I’s outfit might have not exactly match the era (I really wanted a flapper dress for the night!), we sure did have fun wearing some fancy clothes and sipping on cherry sodas with our sweet friends.
I’m kind of in love with this dress! I love the gold, shimmery tone, the pleats, the triangle belt, and the tie on the back of the dress. I scored it on super sale at Jcpenney and can’t wait to wear it again!

Scott looked pretty dashing in his red suspenders! I swear, he LOVES a good suspender! Do any of your guys rock suspenders?
Today is another busy, busy day, but I’ve had my iced coffee (and maybe a blueberry croissant as well) and I’m ready to take on the day (errr, afternoon!). What are you guys up to today? Is it getting really hot where you live? It was soooo hot in Phoenix yesterday! Oh my!

Monday Morning

Hope everyone had a nice weekend! Mine was jam packed and this morning isn’t any slower (I like being busy though!). I do, however, have a very large iced coffee with me and I’m going to kick Monday in the butt! I really do want to have a great day!

Birdies On A Ledge

Today I wanted to pop in to share a few more photos from Scott and I’s scouting session with Sarah. I REALLY adore this set of photos, and loved Sarah’s suggestion of having us sit up on a ledge of an old building in Phoenix. I feel like we kind of resemble birdies on a ledge together.

Is it just me, or does the cut out above slightly look like the shape of Arizona? I think so!
The ledge was too high for me to jump up on, so Scott had to set me up there and help me down. I swear, he’s the sweetest!

A Little Thrifting

This past week I was invited to go thrifting with some of the sweetest ladies in Phoenix (Courtney, Sarah, and Kristine). We had lunch together beforehand at Pita Jungle, and then headed out to Sun City for a little thrifting. I ended up coming home with two things that afternoon, including a lamp for Scott and this pretty Vera scarf featured above for myself! I was so excited that I spent under $5 for both! I already can’t wait for our next hang out sesh/thrifting adventures! Thanks again for inviting me ladies! XO
