Blasting “Daisy” by Brand New….

09.17.09

Recap of the last few days:

Friday Scott and I hung out, spent a little time at Lindsay’s and Brians, switched vehicles with them so they could take Scott’s Pilot to Cali, went to the Mill’s End poetry slam (so much fun!), and then back home for the both of us.
Saturday morning Scott and I went on a walk around South Mountain. There was a lovely breeze and it wasn’t blistering hot outside for once. We are both very much looking forward to more walks in the near future.
Saturday night Gina and I hung out and went to eat at Pita Jungle. After dinner we spent some time music swapping/internet browsing. I ended up with A Fine Frenzy’s new album Bomb in a birdcage, which is absolutely amazing and I can’t stop listening to it (thanks Gina), and I was introduced to this silly/addicting video by Cobra Starship (thanks again Gina):
Sunday I was able to spend a little time with Scott before he went to work. We went to the Coffee buzz and had coffee and shared a yummy bagel (tomatoes, pesto, and cream cheese!). Later that afternoon Gina and I walked from her apartment to Cartel and enjoyed some delicious iced teas. I also tried to teach Gina how to crochet, and she definitely got the hang of it! I’m so excited for her to start crocheting so we can have crochet, and knitting parties together!
Monday I had my one class, and then I went over to Scott’s so we could do a little grocery shopping for dinner. We also picked up Scott’s truck from Brian and Lindsay’s and made a Michael’s run and found a million different things we wanted to buy but didn’t have the money to spend on ($20 stamps, oh my!).
Yesterday was my long day at school, and I got to spend a little time with Scott before he went to work. The rest of the day was spent concentrating on the mass amount of homework that I had.
Today I had my one class in the morning, and then I hit up the Starbucks in Taylor Place for a grand skinny vanilla latte before I headed out to Tempe for my internship. Today was my second day there and everything went really well. I got all my emails sent out, and even got started on a few writing assignments. I’m starting to get the know the staff there better, and becoming more comfortable in my work atmosphere. Even though it’s only been two days, I’m already starting to feel like I really belong there.
Tomorrow is my long day at school, and afterwards Scott and I are going to spend some time together. We also might be going on a bike ride with Brian, Lindsay, and baby Em.
Friday I really want to go to Mill’s End poetry slam and work on a few crafts.

I will leave you with a few inspirational photos, and a few of  my own from the last week or two…
Bike ride!
The godfather and his godson (in almost matching flannel shirts! so cute!)
Using the mini-tripod Scott gave me for Christmas.
Scott and I’s three year anniversary is coming up next month and I’ve told him all I want is for someone to take pictures of us together. I’ve been browsing a few blogs lately and have come across these lovely photos and would love to re-create some of them. This is the style I’m going for…
(This is similar to a photo I took of Scott and I about two years ago.)

Ps
Is it Fall yet? I’m waiting every so impatiently!

New followers! Yay!

09.11.09

The past week has been slightly busy, so I haven’t had much time to blog, but here I am now and ready to tell you all about my fun filled weekend in Flagstaff and all the goodness that has happened so far this week. Also, I noticed that recently I’ve acquired a few new followers and just wanted to say hi to everyone and say thanks for reading.

Anyways, on to the stories! Last weekend I drove up to Flagstaff and had the chance to stay with a very old family friend named Katy (I consider her more of a cousin then a friend) at her dorm at Cowden Hall at NAU. Since it was pretty late when we got back to her dorm, around 10 or 10:30, we decided to go to a mini grocery store/sandwich and pizza place on campus so that we could get a mini-pizza because after midnight Katy’s meal plan would have expired for the week and she would have been out a “free” meal! After we got pizza we walked back to her dorm and watched a little bit of Zach and Miri (make a porno) and I fell fast asleep in her bed next to the open window with the cool breeze flowing in. However, at 7 a.m. I was rudely awakened by the alarm on my photo (I set it so technically it was my fault) and decided to rest a little bit more before convincing getting to get up so she could give me the campus tour before we had to be else where around 9:30.
Katy gave me a fun-filled tour complete with walks through the woods, sculptures of fries and faces, and ghost stories! Before we had to leave we hit up the Union to get some food, however only the Starbucks was open that early so I got a tall skinny vanilla latte (complete with one free shot of espresso!) which was so, so good that early in the morning!
Anyways, here are a few pictures from Katy and I’s adventure:

On a walk!
South campus! Katy lives on North campus!
In the woods!

Awwwwh bffz for life!

In Katy’s dorm!
While I was also in Flagstaff I got to hang out with my friend Lauren whom I haven’t seen in years, literally. It was so nice to be able to catch up with her and look at her shiny engagement ring!
Hopefully next month Scott and I will be able to go back up to Flagstaff to spend more time with Katy and Lauren. I absolutely love the weather up there and NAU seems like such a fun place to be. I can’t wait for more adventures up there!
This week has gone by pretty fast, as it was an extra short school week for me, classes Tuesday through Thursday. Yesterday I did have a meeting with someone in the media relations department at the engineering school at ASU about an internship, and I was offered the job! The internship is a writing internship and I will be writing things that will be posted on the ASU website and in other sources of media through ASU. I start tomorrow and I will be working two days a week, eight hours a week so and all the work I do will be done there so it won’t really affect my work load for school. I’m very excited to start, but also very nervous at the same time.
I must also mention how wonderful today was. My amazing boyfriend was at my school downtown before I even got out of class and dropped my bike off for me behind the building was in and met me there so we could go on a bike ride/lunch date together during my lunch break for school. We decided to bike down to The Welcome Diner but were very dissapointed when we saw that it wasn’t opened to. The signage as a little confusing so all I can tell you is that they are open every First Fridays and Third Thursdays. If anyone can clear up there hours for me I would greatly appreciate it.
So since the diner was closed we road our bikes down Roosevelt and ate at The Nile Cafe. I had a yummy falafel sandwich, and Scott had a gyro! Afterwards we got dessert at Krispie Kreme (donuts and coffee!) and enjoyed our time together before I had to go back to class. I hope we have many more lunch dates like that in the future. I also hope Scott knows how much appreciate him and love him and am so thankful to have him in my life<3
Tomorrow morning I’m getting up extra early so Scott and I can have our weekly Friday morning coffee at Cartel before I go to my internship, and then later that evening hopefully we will be going to the poetry slam at Mill’s End in Tempe.
Ok, enough for now! Happy Thursday everyone!

Just wanted to say real quick that I’m currently sitting in an NAU dorm, the honors dorms to be exact, and I’m getting ready to go explore campus for a bit. I’ll be back in Phoenix on Monday and I’m really hoping the beautiful rainy weather will be sticking around.

Morning coffee dates!

09.05.09

This morning Scott and I went on a cute little coffee date at Cartel (coffee lab). We drank super yummy drinks, non-fat latte and a cappuccino, and talked about the art hanging on the walls. We also took a few photos that I would love to share with you:

My love sipping away…
Say CHEESE!
Ohhh hai this is how I always drink coffee!
Pretty foam art on Scott’s drink.
I HAD pretty foam art, but I drank a bit of my latte before I got the camera out and the foam art had already been destroyed. Boooo!

I really adore taking photos if you can’t tell….
Oh, and a few nights ago Scott and I went to visit Gina at work at took these silly photos:

Oh, and can you tell how excited I am about pumpkin spiced lattes being back at Sbux!
After Scott and I’s coffee date this morning we ran a few errands, had lunch at Mimis’ cafe with my grandma, and then I drove two and a half hours up to Flagstaff to spend time with my family for the weekend. Hopefully I’ll have some time to do homework while I’m up here.
Goodnight loves!

Happy Wednesday!

09.02.09

Here I am, sitting at Starbucks at 54th street and Ray, sipping a non-fat pumpkin spice latte AND a pumpkin spice frap (sample cup size) and I’m loving every minute of it. Even though it is not technically fall, nor is it cool outside, I am still considering it to be fall.

Anyways, the last few days have been very nice. On Monday Scott and I went to visit Gina at her work (Sbux). She made us pumpkin spice lattes and chocolate milk (Scott is so silly). Afterwards we sat outside and took silly pictures.
Yesterday Scott and I spent time with Brian, Lindsay, and baby Emerson. The night included a trip to Target, a drive down to Gracie’s Thrift (it was closed so we couldn’t go in, booo), sandwiches at Mr. Goodcents, and then a trip to Sbux for pumpkin spice lattes and chai! All in all it was a lovely evening and I enjoyed sitting in the back seat with Scott and Em (we played with his stuffed duck and made him smile).
Today I had class in the morning, then I drove to Tempe Marketplace so that I could go to Target to return an ASU shirt that didn’t fit right (long, long sleeve on a baseball style shirt? what the heck!), and then I went home to do homework/check my email for school. Apparently I’m in the wrong JMC class and should be in a higher level class. The whole thing is a big mess and I’ve been working on the situation for months. On one side I had the dean of my school telling me that even though I’ve already taken JMC 201, the course at MCC was inadequate and in order to be ready for JMC 301 I need to take 201 at ASU. Well of course after I’m well into my second week of classes do I find out that even though I’m taking 201 I can’t receive credit for it and I really should be in 301.
Tomorrow I have a meeting with advisor and I plan on getting all things worked out. Cross your fingers for me ok!
This weekend I’m going up to Flagstaff. However, I’m not sure if I’m leaving on Thursday or Friday to go up there. I am so excited to see my cousin Katy and explore her dorm/the NAU campus.
Also, a few eye candy for the day:

I made these with filters from Rollip.com! So much fun!
I spotted this on http://www.polkadotrobot.com/polka-dot-robot/ . This is exactly how I want to look/feel right now! Bring on Fall weather!
And finally, I still really want one of these, which decal to get though….
Well, Scott should be done with PT soon, so ta ta for now.

First week of school, check!

08.30.09

Wow, another week has flown by and I didn’t even blog once! So, so sorry. Promise to keep up with it in the future! Anyways, this week I started my second semester at the ASU campus downtown. I am taking four classes that run Monday through Thursday and I am hopefully getting an internship soon so that I have something else to do! So far all of my classes seem good, nothing too stressful has occurred yet and I’m loving being back downtown.

Most of this week was spent at school, shopping with my mom, and spending time with John Scott. Here is a list of a few random things that I also did during the week:
-Had my very first pumpkin spice latte of the season! Thanks Gina!
-Went to the Diamondbacks vs. Astros baseball game at Chase stadium with Scott, Lindsay, Brian, and baby Emerson!
-Saw FUN play at Zia records. I also spotted Sam while I was in there and heard that Jim Adkins was in the building as well.
-Went to Ikea and bought little tiny stuffed animals for baby Em and baby Peter.
-Had lunch at Tammie Coe Cakes!
-Purchase an extremely cute pair of Oxfords.
-Drank a ton of iced tea!
Today Scott and I are taking it easy. We had brunch at Einstiens, hit up a few thrift stores, and for the past two hours I’ve been working on homework and he has been working on a few art projects. Tonight we are going to our friend Andy’s to see his new place and have dinner.
Hope you all had a wonderful week/weekend!

That’s right, as of today I’ve been back in lovely Phoenix, Arizona for a whole week and I honestly couldn’t be happier!

Last Sunday I flew, on a very, very small plane, from Pocatello, Idaho to Salt Lake City, UTah. After a bumpy ride, a walk across the tarmack, and a starbucks run I was back on a much larger plane that was headed towards Phoenix. For your knitting pleasure….

08.13.09

I started knitting this scarf last December and continued working on it through January, then I got kind of bored with it and stopped. Yesterday I decided that it was finally time to put the kneedles to rest and finish the thing! I made it for myself and can’t wait to wear it this fall/winter. It’s the most lovely pumpkin spice color you’ll ever see!

In other news I will be flying home to Phoenix in t-minus 2 days! I absolutely can’t wait. See you all hopefully soon!
