10 Things i L O V E Sunday!

08.10.09

Has it really been a whole week since I last blogged?! My apologies dears, it’s been a busy week.

Anyways, I spent the last week in Logan, Utah. Logan is located about 60ish miles outside of Salt Lake City and is a big town with little city charm. I spent the most of the week hanging out at Borders/Starbucks, and making things. I had a few plans with my friend Kate but none of them seem to work out, which was ok because she ended up coming to visit me on Thursday night with all of her friends! That was the only day I got to see her unfortunately, she was having a rough week and didn’t have much free time, but I’m so happy I got to at least spend a little time with her.
Friday I worked all day long, and just when I was done with work a got a text from my good friend Chase saying he was in town and coming to visit me! So I spent a few hours hanging out with Chase and his best friend Cade and Cade’s little brother.
Saturday was yet again another long work day, but at the end of it Chase came to visit me again and I got to see his sweet new Harley.
All in all it was a pretty good week. It was really great to see my friends that I usually only get to see once or twice a year.
Ok, now it’s on to my 10 things for this week, GO:
1. Coffee flavored frozen yogurt. Earlier I bought some at Smith’s and I have to say it was deliciousss!
2. 15 dollar, grey Old Navy jackets! I’m in love with the one I just bought! Such a good deal!
3. My new drink-coffee-less plan! Let’s see how it works. I’m gonna try one week no coffee, and then when I’m at the airport next Sunday I’ll get some Sbucks! Greatttt plan!
4. This adorable picture of Zooey Deschannel and Ben Gibbard<3
5. The idea that in about a month pumpkin spice is coming back to Starbucks! Ahhh can’t wait!
6. This photo of Ashley Olsen:
7. This local (PHX area) girl’s handmade clothing/headbands, check out her site:
8. How my lovely boyfriend decorates his work apron<3:

9. These lovely Steve Madden boots:
10. The fact that I just booked a flight from Pocatello to Salt Lake to Phoenix for the 16th! Ahhh so, so excited! I will officially be back in Phoenix at exactly 5:25 pm. I have been waiting for this day for so long and I’m so excited that it’s almost here. Oh, and I’m almost positive I will be back in John Scott’s arms by 5:26 FYI<3

New blog header photo!

08.01.09

New header photos call for special blogs to say thank you to my one and only, john scott goodson for creating this beautiful picture for my blog. I’m such a lucky girl. I couldn’t have asked for a better person in my life<3

On a side note, today I went to the mall with my mom and Jared and was thrilled when i discovered that there was a boba tea shop there! Jared loves boba too so we each got one. I got just a regular peach tea with boba in it and Jared got a green apple smoothie with boba in it! They were both super yummy and I’m thinking we might have to go again tomorrow if we have time.
On another side note,  I met a band by the name of Shinedown tonight. Apparently they are pretty big and everyone in the area seemed to know who they were except me. From the few minutes that I had to listen to their music they appear to be similiar to Puddle of Mud? Correct me if I’m wrong.
Also, I want one of these cute decals from RVA:
Goodnight.

So I’ve been making crochet headbands as one of my projects for the farmer’s markets Scott, Lindsay, and possibly Whitney, will be at in August or September. These are only a few of the ones I’ve made but they all pretty much have the same concept. Let me know what you guys think of them and any ideas you have about them. I’m also open to trades :]

These include vintage buttons, cloth flowers, and crocheted flowers!

10 things i L O V E Monday?

07.27.09

So yesterday I drove around 320 miles from Grand Junction, Colorado to Rock Springs, Wyoming. It was a boring, ugly drive with lots of roadkill to keep my stomach queazy the whole time. My cousin Jared rode with me in the car and at some points it was nice to have someone there with me, but we definitely do not enjoy the same music and got pretty irritating when I had to listen to him complain about mine and have him explain to me how closed minded he is. Anyways, when we finally got here and had eaten dinner last night I was beyond exhausted and decided just to go to bed and update my blog this morning. 10 things I love:

1. These crochet hair ties that I plan on making:
2. Regina Spektor’s new album “Far” that I just downloaded:
3. Crocheting. I’ve been crocheting for quite some time now and it was always something that came so naturally to me. Knitting is lovely as well,  but crocheting has my heart.
4. These crochet flowers that I also plan on making:
5. Iced coffee, that I am craving right now.
6. TOMS, I am in desperate need of a new pair and I kind of adore these:
7. 500 days of summer that I am dying to see. I adore Zoey Deschanel:
8. Bing cherries, lots and lots of them.
9. The idea of almost being two weeks away from seeing my sunshine. I have been gone far too long.
10.  This book that I bought last week that speaks of Vegan dieting:
I’m off to spend a day crocheting, reading, and adventuring.

Driving day.

07.26.09

I’m driving around five hours today to make it to Rock Springs, Wyoming, or as many people refer to it as, the armpit of America. I am not the least bit of excited to go to Wyoming, however that does mean that I am one more week closer to being home.

On a lighter note, I want to dress like this every day:

Busssssy.

07.22.09

Sunday morning I left Gunnison, Colorado and headed back to Grand Junction (the city my summer pretty much revolves around). That afternoon I went shopping for craft supplies at Michaels, and made a few stops along the way (Borders, natural food market, sunglass shop). Afterwards I worked on a few of craft projects and just hung out the rest of the night.

Monday my cousin Jared and I went to go get me coffee at my fav coffee shop in downtown Grand Junction. He let me sit for awhile outside and just enjoy the nice breeze that was flying by around 10 a.m. Afterwards we went to the mall where he bought a new pair of sneakers (Jordan’s? He’s obsessed with Nikes!) and I bought cute school supplies.
Around 1 p.m. we went and saw Bruno at the movie theater across the street from the mall. We had both been really wanting to see Bruno, but about 5 minutes into the movie I knew I didn’t really want to see it anymore but it was too late to back out so I sat through around 2 hours of very vulgar, yet funny at times, humor and covered my eyes a lot haha. Later on that evening my family and I went to eat at a Chinese Buffet, and then to see Harry Potter, which I loved!
Today, Tuesday, Jared and I got up bright and early and made it to a Starbucks by 8 a.m. for Free Pastry Day! I was really worried that there would be a super long line and we wouldn’t end up getting our free pastry, but it turns out not as many people as you would think knew about the deal around here and we only had to wait for two other customers to place their orders. Here is what Jared and I got, Jared: stawberries and cream frap with a slice of lemon pound cake, Myself: skinny vanilla latte and a bran muffin with apple and cherry bites in it. My muffin was super yummy and I will definitely be having another one sometime in the future.
The rest of the day was filled with running errands and working.
Here is a few pictures to sum up my last few days:
Cute school supplies (pens, pencils, paper, recycle chip bag folders and pencil holders (one for me, one for scott) and my new fav yellow purse that I got for 15 bucks!
Letter from my great Uncle George to my Great Uncle Wolf from 1989 that mentions how my mom and I just visited him (letter borrowed from my Uncle Pete). Letter included a very large family tree that dates back to the 1500’s and states that one of our ancestors came over on the Mayflower, and my Great Uncle Wolf’s arm discharge papers. This was very cool to look at and I just had a to take a photo of it all together.
Free Pastry Day!
The man that holds the key to my heart. My sunshine John Scott Goodson<3
Lastly, Scott bought me this beautiful Minolta film camera from Goodwill today for 4 dollars. I am more than excited to use it and so thankful that my baby thought of me when he saw it!
Ok, I am beyond tired. Goodnight.
