TEA TALK X ZAPPOS FOR FALL

Hello! Today I’ve teamed up with Zappos to style up a few pieces from their wonderful shop – a pair of Paige denim jeans and Freebird boots to be exact! I’ve been a big fan of Zappos for years now, as they have best selection of shoes, clothing, accessories and more – and I always seem to find what I’m looking for there even if it’s sold out elsewhere. Also, a huge bonus is that their shipping is super quick! Anyways, for this challenge I was asked to style up a cozy fall look, so naturally I went with my go-to lately – cozy layers, denim and boots!







Outfit details:
This weekend was Scott and I’s first time shooting with our NEW camera! ECK! After four years of shooting with our Rebel, Scott and I finally took the plunge and purchased a Canon 6D + a new lens. This camera is sharp and it’s a dream to shoot with. On Saturday I actually sat down and shot something really exciting with it, so keep an eye out for something new coming to the blog very soon. Also, I can’t believe we’re already in the thick of the early November and that the holidays are slowly making their way here. I may have already purchased my first Christmas present and a new ornament for our tree, and I have a feeling that it’s all downhill from here! 😉

THIS MONTH – NOVEMBER

11.05.14

Eating – a balance of healthy foods and pumpkin treats!
Drinking – hot coffee and water.
Working – on spending more time being active after I get home from work each day.
Learning –  how to better balance my time.
Listening – to the new Tswift album and the Serial podcast (can’t get enough!). 
Reading – lots of Adweek and all the blogs I’m following on Bloglovin.
Watching – too many reality and home shows lately. My favorites are Rehab Addict and 
Walking – from coffee shop to coffee shop lately. 
Wearing – lots of layers, chunky sweaters and boots. Cold weather is finally here!
Wanting –  this gorgeous satchel from Madewell.

BACK TO THE SECRET CREEK

11.04.14

During our Northern adventure, Scott and I made a quick stop at the secret creek – the same one we visited in May where our dear friends eloped last year! This time around, the trees had a hint of yellow and orange to them, the water was icy, and the ground was covered in crunchy leaves. The light that was shining through the tops of the trees also gave off the most beautiful glow, and standing  here felt like we were in a dream. Sigh, Arizona really can be so beautiful!

Ever since we got back from our trip I’ve been dreaming off another weekend getaway. While we may not be able to escape the city until the wintertime, I can still daydream about this gorgeous fall day among the aspens, pine tops and all the fallen leaves. In other news, I woke up feeling like today was another Monday complete with tired eyes, traffic and bonking my head on my desk at work first thing this morning. While it may feel easy to let these little hardships bring me down, today I’ve decided that I’m going to turn things around – one coffee cup at a time. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, ghouls, ghosts & goblins! All Hallow’s Eve is finally here and I’m ready to run amuck, amuck, amuck! Tonight, Scott and I are taking part in the spooky festivities and dressing up for an evening of scary stories, homemade chilly and cornbread, and all the pumpkin treats we can eat! I already can’t wait for the evening to be here, and promise to share our costumes on Instagram tonight – they’re SO good! I hope everyone has a very safe and SPOOKY night!

ONE STYLE, TWO WAYS + MINNETONKA GIVEAWAY

I am so excited to announced that Scott and I have teamed up with Christina and Robert of New Darlings for the Minnetonka Moccasin “One Style, Two Ways” series. For this fun series, they’ve asked several bloggers to team up with a friend, or a couple in our case, and style one pair of moccasins two different ways. One of our favorite fall traditions is pumpkin picking at Schnepf Farms, and this year we were excited to continue the tradition with Robert and Christina. We didn’t plan ahead of how we were going to style our mocs, but when we met up we realized that we both were feeling inspired by the autumn season, crisp mornings and our trip to the pumpkin patch. Great minds (and friends) really do think alike! We were also very lucky to have our new friends Kandis and Dan in town to take part in the fall festivities, and also snap these darling photos for us.

AN AUTUMNAL RED

10.29.14

The Autumn leaves have hit their peak and are on their way out, but for now, I’m going to enjoy every bright, perfectly colored leaf that we caught on camera while up in Flagstaff a few weeks back. For a lady who really has no recollection of a true red, orange and yellow fall (although, my mom assures me I saw plenty of it when I was little), I was in heaven walking down the color lined streets, hot coffee in one hand and my hubby’s hand in the other. We stopped along our chilly walk to snap these photos, all the while dodging looks and hoping the owners of the house didn’t come outside. These colors were just too good to keep walking, if you know what I mean.

It’s Wednesday and the horrors of the haunted hump day are upon us (it is Halloween week, ya know). Well, not really, but I did spill a large iced coffee all over myself while sitting at my desk at work – whoops! I’m hoping that tonight redeems itself with an evening of spooky movies, pumpkin carving and more iced coffee, because I really wanted that drink!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, HUSBAND!

Happy Birthday, dear husband of mine! Today you’re 26 and entering a whole new year of life. During your 25th year you started grad school, worked hard on Citizen Home Decor, and mostly importantly, vowed to love me for all of the days of your life. I’ve always said that 26 was a lucky number, and while 25 was an exceptionally amazing year, I have a feeling that 26 is going to be that much more special.
Here’s to an amazing year, my love. I’m so lucky I get to live life with you!

ALONG A WINDING ROAD

Autumn in Northern Arizona is like a dream! Unlike Southern Arizona, they see changing leaves, have cooler temps and get snow in the winter months. While I’m not sure I would want to live there all the time, it feels like a huge blessing to be able to drive a few hours up the mountain and be surrounded by such beauty! On this particular day, we took a winding drive down from Flagstaff to Sedona to see the fall colors that line this tiny path. While the drive was a little iffy at places, the colors and cool breeze were totally worth it.

I’m hoping to take one more trip up north before the leaves all fall and winter starts to make its way through. This week is another busy week, but it’s going to be an amazing one at that! Tomorrow is Scott’s birthday, Friday is Halloween and Saturday is my mom’s birthday! I also fully intend on indulging in all of the Halloween goodness while I still can – watching my fav Halloween movies – Hocus Pocus, Halloweentown and The Addams Family, sipping on pumpkin spice coffee and eating ALL of the candy corn! Oh, and I still need to think of a costume for Friday! I might just stick with my go-to witch look, but maybe this year I’ll change it up a bit. Any suggestions?
