Today is Scott and I’s eight year dating anniversary! While on one hand, I want to shout it to the rooftops and celebrate, on the other hand I’ve been reminded that we are indeed now married and our new anniversary is in January. However, these past eight years have been the best of my life and I just can’t help but celebrate our love today, October 24 – eight years to the day since you kissed me on the hand and asked me to be your girlfriend in your nana’s Cadillac.
Cheers to eight years, my love! Here’s to 100 more!

Last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending my local Free People’s Treat Your Body & Spirit event! You may or may not know this, but I am a HUGE Free People fan – everything from their clothes, social channels and way of life speaks to my soul (no, seriously, I’m a FP girl for life), so I was very excited to have the opportunity to attend this local event. The morning consisted of a free class from Pure Barre, juice tastings from Sip Juice Bar and Chakra readings by Aveda. It definitely was a fun morning and my only wish was that I could have stayed longer. Thanks for having me, Free People Chandler!
Any time that we find ourselves in Flagstaff, Arizona, we like making the trip downtown to Macy’s for a quick coffee or lunch out on the patio. When we arrived in Flagstaff this time around it was nearly lunchtime, so we decided to park the car and walk along the changing colored leaves to Macy’s.
To be honest, I’m not even sure how we found out about Macy’s. This quaint European coffee shop has been a staple in the Flagstaff community for years now, so I’m sure that somewhere along our travels over the years someone must have told us to stop in there. Whoever it was, I’m sure glad they did. The atmosphere there, especially in the fall in winter, is quaint and dreamy. Think Stars Hollow with a dash of that Flagstaff hippie vibe mixed in.
After we ordered inside and got our hot americanos to-go, we stepped outside and scored a spot at one of their tiny tables along the front of the coffee shop. We had a few minutes before our food came, so we sipped our coffees and admired the changing leaves together – yellow, red and orange – the colors that day were out of this world. For lunch, we had a classic Macy’s dish – grilled cheese and a side. Scott had a southwest soup, which looked delicious, and I had salad with their house dressing. The grilled cheese was SO good and the bread was so thick. MMM!
Oh, don’t mind us. Just two newlyweds taking in the fall weather. 😉
After we finished up our lunch we headed out for a little stroll around the quaint neighborhood surrounding Macy’s. We were on the hunt for more changing leaves and boy did we find them!
Do you have a favorite coffee shop that you alway have to visit when you go out of town?
BOO! Did I scare you? Maybe a little? Alright, maybe not at all, but it is the most spooky time of year so I thought I would give it a try! Lately I’ve been getting my fill of Halloween movies and spooky shows. Hocus Pocus, Halloweentownn, Halloweentown 2 – you know, all the basics. I also watched a few specials on the most haunted places in America and may have scared myself silly while watching them alone, at night, with all of the lights off – whoops.
A few weekends back, Scott and I spent some time at a local pumpkin patch, Mother Nature’s Farm. We’ve been going to this pumpkin patch in the middle of the city for years now, and every year it’s just as adorable as the last. It was pretty warm out the day when we went, but the tiny pumpkins sure seem to put us in an Autumn mood. This past weekend we went to another, much larger pumpkin patch with a few years for a fun photoshooot and I absolutely can’t wait to share those photos with ya’ll very soon!
A sweet girl that saw us struggling to take a photo together offered to snap one of us because we looked “just so darn cute surrounded by the pumpkins.” She was seriously the sweetest and we’re happy to have this little memory forever. This week Scott is in New York City for a conference and I’m seriously missing him. We haven’t really been a part in a long, long time, so it’s strange not having him here, but I know that’s he’s having the best time in NYC and I’m so happy for him to have this amazing opportunity. As I type this, he’s sending me photos of the Highline and it’s making me dream of a NYC getaway – one day soon, I swear!

Hello! The weekend is almost here and Scott and I are so excited to be participated in theUrban Outfitters Dreamers and Doers College Marketplace along with so many other talented local artists! We’ll be selling Scott’s handmade Citizen Home Decor pieces at the one-day artisan fair at the Mill Ave., Tempe, Ariz., UO location (545 S. Mill Ave.) tomorrow, October 17th, from noon to 6pm and would love to see all of you local readers/friends there! Hello! Today I’m teaming up with Piperlime to style up two items that not only showcase my personal style, but also highlight this years Fall/Winter trends. This sweet navy bird dress speaks to not only my love for little birds, but also my passion for the color navy- an on-point color for the season. The second item Piperlime sent my way, these simple nude flats, also show off my love for all things classic, but the metallic bottoms give them that edgy twist that I love. To top off the outfit, I threw on my new favorite biker jacket that I bought after hearing my sweet friend Ashley rave about it. I’ll definitely be repeating this outfit when it gets a little cooler out with a pair of black tights and a cozy scarf!

The last few days have been absolutely crazy around here. Scott and I have been so busy working, but also having a little fun. On Monday, after a long weekend helping out at the Tempe Oktoberfest, we took a quick day trip up to Flagstaff to see the leaves change, which was magical. Yesterday, Scott and I attended a lecture with some of his classmates and got to take a tour of the newly restored Newton with the man who developed the project himself (which was WAY cool because had the chance to learn about the history behind the old Beef Eaters restaurant in Mid-town Phoenix and see where it is today). Tonight, I’m headed to meet Scott after work for a private event that Urban Outfitters is throwing for all of their Arizona Dreamers & Doers. This Friday is finally the Dreamers and Doers market at the UO location on Mill Avenue from noon to 6pm and Scott and I will be selling his handmade pieces from Citizen Home Decor. If you’re local, we hope to see you there!
Hello! Scott and I just got back from the most beautiful day spent up north taking in the fall leaves and the cold air. October is truly my favorite month of the year, so tonight I wanted to share with you all a few of my fav fall’esque songs that I’ll be listening to non-stop until at least the beginning of November. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this fall playlist as much as I do! Let me know in the comments what you’ve been listening to lately! xo
Today I’m back with style number five from myLuLu*s Rustic Fall Collab! This time around, I threw in an old favorite belt and my go-to black booties. Ive been all about plaid lately, so this top has been in heavy rotation! Anyways, it’s Friday! Today my work is taking my coworkers and I out for a few rounds of bowling (team building at its best), and I’m really excited to get out of the office and spent some in downtown Phoenix. This weekend, Scott and I will be helping out at the Tempe Oktoberfest and it’s supposed to BEAutiful out. Over the years, this weekend always marked the turning of temperatures and it officially feeling like fall (finally!), so I think a little celebration is order. I’ll definitely be having one (or two) of those delicious apple dumplings the Oktoberfest is famous for! YUM! Anyways, I hope ya’ll have a wonderful weekend! -Chelsea xo
If you haven’t guessed where the title of this post comes from yet I’ll give you a hint — this band is definitely a guilty pleasure! Still thinking? Alright, alright — it’s Fall Out Boy! Yikes! I know, but I remember being obsessed with this song back in high school and think the title is fitting for a fleeting autumn day. Anyways, this week has been zooming by! Scott and I have both been so busy with school and work. I’ve been coming home every night so tired, so last night we decided to go out for a coffee date so I would have some extra energy to work on a few things before hitting the hay. Well, it didn’t exactly end up working out like that, but it was really nice to get out and just enjoy an Americano together and chit chat about Scott’s upcoming trip to New York and how I’m hoping to meet Tieka of Selective Potential while she’s in town! Anyways, this weekend Scott and I will be out at the Tempe Oktoberfest for a little fun and hope to see a few of you there! xo
Scott and I had the most lovely autumn weekend! On Friday, we celebrated my father-in-law’s birthday at one of our favorite local restaurants, Liberty Market. Even though it may have been too late for coffee, Scott and I still celebrated with cortaditos (a short shot of espresso + milk + raw sugar). We topped off the night with dessert from Joe’s BBQ and headed home.
On Saturday, we had a pretty slow morning and afternoon, cleaning the house and running errands. In the evening, though, we headed out to The Duce to celebrate the Worldwide Instameet V.10 of Arizona. Our sweet friends, Christina and Robert of New Darlings, invited us out and we all had a great time seeing new and old faces and taking ridiculous photos in the boxing ring together. A nice photographer took the instant photo of us above and I love how it turned out! After the meet-up we went out to Cibo Pizzeria for dinner and basically stuffed ourselves silly – their burrata is to die for!
Sunday was spent wandering around Target, cleaning up and decorating for Halloween! We also took a quick trip to a local pumpkin farm and had too much fun taking photos of pumpkins in front of our heads (#pumpkinface).
We had a wonderful weekend, but it definitely went by too fast! We’ve got a full week ahead of us, but for now, I just need more coffee! Who’s with me?
