Wednesday Love

09.26.12

Just wanted to stop in to say I hope everyone is having a beautiful Wednesday and that your day is filled with lots of rest (or at least endless mugs of coffee) and something extra special that makes you happy! I got to spend the morning and afternoon today with my little Scout and it was THE best! Can’t wait to take him on more outings to my favorite places in Phoenix!

What are you up to today?

Peony

09.25.12

Ever have one of those weeks where things are just so crazy busy, but everything that is meant to happen seems to fall into place just perfectly? I’m having one of those weeks and I am SO happy about it.

The past few days have just been so awesome and I feel like I can hardly put my feelings about them into words. I randomly ran into two old friends that I haven’t seen in about five years, and the next day had coffee with another friend whom I haven’t seen in over two years! Like I said, the past few days have been pretty special and I’m loving all of the positive vibes that are floating around in my life!

Lately I’ve been loving this pretty Peony lipstick from Radiant Cosmetics! It’s the perfect shade of pink and has a really nice texture to it! Over the past few months I’ve been learning love to lipsticks, and I’ve been having a lot of fun with them so far. I’m thinking next I would like to try out Nars’ Schiap and Mac’s Creme Cup! Do you have a favorite lipstick?

School has been super busy for both Scott and I lately. It seems like every evening we have a list of things to do (reading, quizzes, reviews, tests, and repeat), but I’m trying to tell myself that this year is probably the last time I’ll have to go through this and I should just enjoy it and work hard to get through it because come May it will be all over. It’s crazy to think that graduation is not that far away now, as it truly feels like I just started grad school!

09.23.12

I am SO excited to announce that the amazing Tumblweeds Handcraft and I have collaborated on a pair of “Chelsea” designed Tumblweeds sunnies! I am so, so happy with the way these lovely wooden wayfarers turned out, and I’m obsessed with anchor detailing! Beca and Doug truly did an amazing job on all five blogger collection designs!

The sunglasses I help designed, along with the other blogger collection shades and a few other styles, are on sale right now on Fab.com! Since it’s the first day of Fall I say treat yourself and pick up a pair of these amazing Tumbleweeds Handcraft shades (promise you won’t regret it!).

Saying Goodbye To Summer

09.21.12

Well, it’s officially the last day of summer and I am certainly excited that it is finally here. This morning Scott and I celebrated with our last summer hoorah, making peach pancakes for breakfast! We also went on a long walk around Tempe Town Lake where the temperature proved to us that although it’s almost fall, the weather won’t be partaking in celebrating for awhile. I’m not going to let this get me down though and have been thinking about pulling out my favorite boots for a weekend around town (thanks to Mandy for the inspiration last night, she was rocking a fall look that I loved!).

We had a rather warm evening last night and this sweet vintage skirt from Water Lily Thrift was just perfect for the weather and all of the running around we did. To be honest, I find that most vintage doesn’t fit me quite right (or at least the vintage I’ve found, loved, and tried on!), but this skirt fits like a dream! It hits my waist at the perfect spot, and falls to a comfortable length. I have to say that I’m pretty smitten with it and will be wearing it through the fall season. I’m also obsessed with the burgundy color, and the pretty floral detail!

Today I’m catching up on emails, doing some school work, and have a family function to attend this evening. This weekend I can’t wait to spend some more time with my sweet pup, Scout, and also work on figuring out this new Blogger design a little better (I waited until the last minute to change over to the new system and so far I’m not loving it!).

How are you celebrating the last day of summer?

Printed

09.18.12

I’m not usually one for big, overall prints, but this dress was just too sweet to pass up. I love the mixture of the dark and lighter colors, and how easy it is to wear.

This dress was another great find from Runway Fashion Exchange in Chandler. I’ve been loving each piece I picked up from there earlier this month, and can’t wait to go back sometime soon and see what new items they have out on their racks. I’m in need of some new fall plaid!
Outfit details:
Lucky Brand flats: c/o Marshalls
I’m off to class this morning and hoping for a really good day. Tonight one of Scott’s classes is meeting at an art museum (jealous) and while he’s in class I’m hoping to be able to go visit my parents and pup (they’re out of town, but still not very far away). It almost seems crazy how much I miss my little Scout, but honestly he has made my whole world that much brighter and I’m so thankful to have him in our family. I’m already looking forward to dressing him up for Halloween (I may have bought him a skeleton t-shirt!), and I’m really excited to take him on more outings and walks once he’s back home. Ok, I’m off to class!
What is making your day today? Are you into prints?

An Evening Out

09.17.12

This weekend really seemed to go by in a snap. Friday night Scott and I spent a little time walking around the Mesa Arts Center before their fall season kick-off party. We actually didn’t even know there was an event going on that evening, as we had just planned to walk around the arts center and maybe pick up a coffee or a sweet treat to-go on our way out (Sweetcakes and Lo-Fi Coffee Shop are right down the street!), but ended up taking a little extra time to walk around and check out all of the stations they were setting up for the evening.

On our way out of the arts center we spotted a little snow cone stand and decided to get a peach snow cone to share. Lately the evenings around Phoenix have been a little cooler than usual, and also a little breezy (fall really is in the air!). I would be lying if I said I wasn’t excited to get back into my layering ways. Even though I really liked this little date night outfit I wore, it would have been just so much more “me” with a pair of tights and a cozy sweater. Soon my friends, very soon!
