Happy August! I can’t believe it’s already here (and I’m ecstatic about it!). So as the summer has been dwindling down I have done a little extra traveling. Last week I was in Vernal, Utah, and last night I arrived in Rock Springs, Wyoming. This last bit of my travels mean that I’m that much more closer to home (t-minus eight days!), but before I head back into the sun (The Format reference anyone?) I’m going to soak up this cool, breezy weather we’ve been encountering lately.

07.27.11If you would have told me at the beginning of the summer that I was going to visit a castle while in Colorado I would have said your crazy! Well, life always has its little surprises and a few weeks ago Scott and I actually visited a castle in the middle of the mountains in Colorado. My dad had visited this castle when he was much younger, and was reminded of it when we drove past it earlier this summer. He encouraged us to drive the windy mountain and take a tour of the more than 100 year-old castle.

07.25.11Well, this is it! Yesterday was my last day in Colorado, and today I’m heading out of the state and on to Utah. My final week here was a very busy one, but I was able to spend an hour in my favorite spot in town, downtown Grand Junction.

07.22.11Scott and I’s trip to Durango, CO was extra lovely. On the way there we battled curvy mountains that just didn’t seem to want to end, and on the way back we explored a ghost town that will not soon be forgotten. During our time in Durango, though, we had so much fun exploring a new to us city, finding neat murals, and digging through antique stores and pretty boutiques.

Just a few more weeks and we will be back together again! Until then though, I still have a few fun adventure posts to share of our week together! We had so many great adventures in such a short period of time. It truly was an amazing week!
